Any idea chaps, cos am considering splashing out on one ?

I checked the Samsung series 6 32inch but hear its red coating and frame can cause glare while watching, the Panasonic TX32LZD85 sounds and looks nice and can be had for £650 if I look about, would be pretty much used for HD 720/1080p viewing from pc, and occasional SD watching...

Save your cash, 1080p on a 32" isn't worth it unless you sit 2ft away from the screen. 37" is the minimum size for 1080p IMO.

i agree personally i wouldnt push yourself to 1080p on a 32 unless your desperate to have it, your btr having it on a bigger screen where you need the higher resolution more

1080P will be the norm eventually go for it the samsung 32" A656 has been highly praised in reviews from owners there is a good indepth review of it at hdtvtest.co.uk.

I was considering the 32inc Samsung Series 6, since I do love the red champagne type finish but was worried about a potential after glare effect?

It does look lovely I gotta admit....

I'm not sure what you mean by after glare? You mean glare from lights in the room?

It's very similar to candy paint that you see of flashy cars...

I think he means the screen itself samsung use a ultra clear panel which looks kind of shiny black but it does help give the picture more depth and blacks look better.

my sony x3000 has the same type of screen and you can see yourself in it if you get enough light on it but it not a massive issue for me.

I mean like the actual bezel/frame of the TV.... I read In one review that it shines directly in your eye think they called it a glare.

Cos even if you look at the screen in the high street shop even my m8 said before I did that colour and frame of TV will surely just shine in your eyes and put you off....

Cant recall the series 6 review that mentioned it but ill check later on tonight

Yes the frame is shiny and reflective but so is the rest of the screen meaning if you get reflections on the frame you also get reflections on the screen also. I imagine the lights in a shop will be much higher than the lights in most peoples front rooms. I don't find it distracting at all - I hope this helps. :)

The Sony 32W4000 is very capable as well, though I hear that its doesnt have the best Freeview/SD picture quality - also meant to be pretty fast so good for gaming. I was going to get one until I found out my 24" monitor supported HDCP over DVI. It will do for now (until it breaks) ;).

Also What Hi-Fi were raving about a Phillips 32", but I cant remember the model, other than to get the best from it you would need to tweak a lot of the default settings. The Samsung you mentioned is also meant to be above average - I think those 3 are the best examples of 32" FullHD LCDs (if you ignore the Pioneer)

And please ignore anyone that says 1080p is worthless on 32" if they dont even enquire your usage - for PC desktop its pretty much perfect size...

ps3ud0

32" 1080p lcd as main pc monitor ? would it be ok as good as normal 24" monitor?

You know I thought the samething as well in my room a 32inch would take up most of the space :o but I still belive a PC TFT 24" would be better overall.

Exactly the reason why am looking at PVA/IPS panel 24" panels atm
