BBC Issue apology over Ross/Brand 'Prank'

These two are two of the biggest ***** the world has ever known. Delighted to see them suspended to be honest.

I don't call broadcasting I F£$%^&* you grandaughter but I used a condom and she wasn't menstruating trival tbh.

And leaving this on an answer Machine while the nation listened on.

He did, true and she wasn't. What's the issue?

The broadcast was not live. The producers were obviously happy for it to go out and it had passed the internal vetting procedure. The BBC are now backtracking and hanging out their talent to dry at the slightest wiff of a backlash from the blue rinse brigade .

I'm sure Brand is sorry for the comments he made but I also think he's resigned more as an "up yours" to the BBC for suspending him than for the actual event, he's just done a Disney movie with Adam Sandler and he's doing a spin off movie from Forgetting Sarah Marshall, he probably just figured it wasn't worth the hassle.

The BBC would have shown a lot of guts if they had kept him simply due to the pressure they were under and would have received some credibility from younger listeners/viewers by doing so which is something they have been striving for for the last few years.

They buckled under the pressure for THEIR mistake.

2 people complained about the original broadcasting of the show...

Its nothing more than an orchestrated witchhunt for Ross's job... People dont like the amount of money he's paid, Im one of them, £125,000 a week is ludicrous for a BBC presenter, but thats the real issue at play here!!!

Hhahahahaha Easyrider phoned ofcom and complained!

i think you wanna hump sachs grand daughter and you are just jealous that Russell brand snaked her first

The only reason I can imagine so many people have complained is because they see this as an excuse to get rid of both of them because they didn't like them in the first place.

Which is a pretty sad way to go about things. By pretty, I mean very. Verging on pathetic. If you were offended however, fair enough, complain away.

Who here complained?

If Mr Sachs had paid someone to spank him would everyone be up in arms at the person that spanked him or would everyone just say 'well it's what he wanted and he knew exactly what would happen'?

If Mr Sachs paid someone to vebally abuse him then would everyone be up in arms or would they say 'well, he asked for it'?

By agreeing to appear on the show he knew that lewd jokes were to be made, he knew crude jokes were to be made and he knew jokes at his own expense would be made. If he knows anything about his granddaughter he likely knew she would be mentioned more than once as well. By agreeing to appear on the show he consented to these things happening. Why would you consent to something happening and then get outraged when it does?

No,

When ratings go down then people are axed.

I bet the ratings for his show this coming Saturday would have been through the roof after all the publicity :D

For the record I have never listened to his show and am not a fan of his or Ross's. But I do have an issue with people being fired or hung out to dry by the public's knee jerk reaction to such trivial issues.

When ya think of how offensive some of Frankie Boyles comments are on Mock the Week, it seems almost contradictory to punish the hell out of brand and ross really.
