lol. I don't know why you think me a kneejerk. If the PM, BBC regulators and even the men themselves think they have done wrong and have let themselves down I can't see why I can't hold the same view without that branding.
Because anyone in the right mind knows there has been a serious over reaction. Andrew Sachs even says that he doesnt want revenge and hes very happy with the letters of apology and flowers hes recieved.
his grand daughter scored some great cash interviews, and the only people to lose out so far has actually been the BBC who lost Russell Brand, who doesn actually need them to generate his income. He can make a fortune alone.
Its absolute poo that the PM and Parliament have been brought into it. Its an absolute disgrace in fact, far more offensive to me than anything any comedian could say.
Why people cant just turn away from something they dont like is beyond me. The radio show is obviously popular, and i bet the people that actually listen to it regularly arent the people that complained. Its probably some people whove never even heard the whole thing, but jumped on the band wagon.
some peoples lives are so boring that they feel the need to complain about things they could very easily turn a blind eye to.
It should never have been broadcast. The person who allowed it to be broadcast should be the one retiring. Whether or not they made offensive comedy isnt really the point.
I could see a comedian in a club who could just churn out jokes about humping babies or something equally sick, nothing additional would come of it...
but lets say it was filmed, and then someone thought it would be funny to put on TV...
then its that person that makes that decision to broadcast something contravertial that is at fault.
I cant believe how far this has gone.
