That's possibly the worst place to be .

I was thinking Wales or the Peak District and I very much doubt even McCain/Palin could get their geography that bad they come looking for Osama there. :D

he's going to pull the troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan, the whole point of Iraq was that Bush thought that there were WMDs but they didn't find any, yet the troops are still there to keep "stability"

How is that going to make the world better? In fact just pulling them out right now would probably make the world a worse place.

Do you want to explain that? Actually if you extrapolate from your sentence it it possible to come to the conclusion (albeit very tentatively) that the world would be a better place if all countries are occupied by America!

What positive effect for the world do you see if Obama wins? What difference do you think it will make compared to McCain?

I just really feel another war is on the horizon if the republicans are still in power. McCain was in some ridiculous conference last year and was working closely to a pastor there until recently, its some organisation which unites Isreal and America together. This is a good article, make of it what you will

Iran is on there books next in my opinion, its inevitable if you ask me.

That's my fear too and Iran won't roll over and play beg like Iraq.

Ah right, so by make the world better you actually mean "Have no impact on me in the UK."? Because the last time I looked Iraq was part of the world. :p

There is an argument that Iraq would be better without the American presence. Hell there is an argument that things were better for you average Iraqi under Saddam. At least they had utilities then.

Amen. Burn the SOB.

McCAIN FOR PREZ

Why ?

Do you want so much money to be utterly wasted on war, which only destroys things ? Aren't you ****ed off about what that idiot bush has said ( ''The Iraqi's have weapons of mass destruction'') ? Are you against abortion  ? Why don't you want everyone to become insured, don't poor people deserve to get healthcare ? Do you seriously think schools should go back to the stone ages again ? Why don't you want more energy to be won out of renewable sources, do you want to be dependent of the middle east, or be ****ed when the oil actually does run out in a century or so ?

McCain is stuck in the 1950's tbh...

Not at all, I don't think America invading Iraq was a good idea at all. What I mean is that if America withdraws from Iraq right now then you are looking at a potential civil war just as things are slowly starting to get better. The Northern Kurds would probably try for independance leading to an increase in tension right on Europes doorstep and the Sunni's and Shia's would do their utmost to kill even more of each other than they are doing at the moment.

Iran has been next for quite a few years now and it doesn't seem to be happening. With the unpopularity of the current wars I don't really see any American president doing much more than airstrikes for a while. With both Republicans and Democrats having history with that.

There is certainly a strong arguement for Iraq being better for the Americans never invading in the first place, but it would be considerably harder to argue that Iraq would be better off if the Americans left today.

Its because he believes Sarah Palin is filled with the holy spirit.

A US website reveals that the Republican National Committee has spent $150,000 (£93,000) on Sarah Palin's wardrobe in the two months since John McCain chose her as his running mate.

Do you want the Republican's to win? I know that the Republicans generally stand more for what the founding fathers wanted, but at time like this, people need help, they don't need Palin's wardrobe to be stocked up.

I know that wardrobe thing is annoying but kind of blown out of proportion a bit. Obama is spending close to $3million dollars on advertising on the up coming week!!

The war alone so far has cost the US $750billion dollars - that's not including in-direct costs. What this money could have achieved is mind-boggling!

yep, considering the war was for a fake cause, solar panels could have been made available at a tiny cost so that the average person could afford them, windfarms could have been set up, lehmann brothers might not have gone down the crapper...

Without the war, Every person in the States would have had free medical insurance, every car in the States would have been able to be converted to FlexFuel, the schooling system would be improved 10 fold, the economic crisis would have been avoided.
Oh well :(

I don't think american policy towards a lot of things will change, unless there is a dramtic shift in interest group politics there or a large majority of Democrats in both the Senate and the House.

However, I think it's a vote of common sense and principle to show that America is not that far out of touch with the rest of humanity. One on side you have a women who believes that the world is about 7000 years old whilst on the other you have a man who is INTELLIGENT. I know which one I'd rather have in charge, Okay McCain would be president but if he dies in office Palin would be in power......scary.

Most of that money went in to US companies providing US jobs and into paying the soldiers.
