As title really, what's the best clay bar to use for detailing the car? Also, what lubricator did you use? Are there any deals going atm?

The last time I looked at these, the Sonus bars are the onse to use with any quick detailer spray as lubricant (usually Megs).

Why buy lube spray, put some water in an old sprayer and use that, much cheaper and does the job.

Got my clay bar from cleanyourcar and it wa their own brand one. Did a stunning job on my 30yr old audi.

the clay is rubbed on the paint and it removes all the crap that's stuck on it much better than washing it alone, then you can polish and wax the car to protect the paint. After hearing about the way they're going to be gritting the roads with hydrocholric acid i thought i'd better get to it ;)

As above ^

Its brilliant, was your car as well as you can, then claybar it and you will be suprised how much 'dirt' is still on the car.

i wouldn't bother with it on a new-ish car myself, i'm not all that anal, but it's 10 yrs old and if i don't treat it now it won't last well to 15 yrs :) plus my paint's Glacier White so i don't think i'll do it any favours by ignoring it

My ST was brand new, and had apparently been built in June 06, when i got it in July 06 i clayed it as i wasnt overly happy with the finish, you would be surprised at the amount of contaminants in the paint.

Personally I sonus green, or grey if the car is really bad, problem with grey is that it tends to marr the paint work so you definatly need to polish it afterwoods, sometimes even a machine polish is required.

Megs clay is just fine too.

I have the bilthamber stuff....like its says water as the lube. Its does its job but its the only clay I've used so cannot compare it to anything. Paintwork lovely and smooth after.
