Voicemail from mum last night -

"I was driving your car last night and the gearbox was making funny noises. Have taken it to usual garage to be looked at, gearbox needs replacing and the clutch will probably need doing too"

Why oh why do I still have this car and continue to spend so much on it...!

On my 96 Micra.
My next installment of loan comes through in late January, insurance is due early February. Thanks for the idea Fox lol.

Sounds to me like your mum's bad gear changes caused it :p

Has she been hooning it?

is sad to see a student that can afford to own and run a car then complain that he has to use his money to keep it on the road

I only started uni last month, the car's at home.

Sounds to me like your mum's bad gear changes caused it :p

Has she been hooning it?

Probably knowing her. She's paying for it for now so maybe I can find a way out of it!

Should cost all of about £150 to fix if you can DIY it.

I'm not mechanically minded enough unfortunately.

my student loan went straight on insurance, although i work part time so it helps. right enough, ive spent 100 quid allready today on drugs, booze, a costume and a ticket to the party im going to tonight. I get 300 a month, doesnt really cut it. :(

This is why I didn't buy a car with my finance. I'd rather have a damn good computer than have to fork out money every few months on a car.

You can hardly expect other people to pay to fix your car.

You could expect them to make a regular contribution to the running of the car if they use it though.

I didn't get any student loans :( Damn you all and your temporary free money!
