ATX12V 8 pin connector - Abit intel IP43 / Akasa 400W

Finally got my system built, Abit IP43, E5200, Akasa 400W paxpower, GF8600GT, 4gb ram.

However on the power supply there are two 4 pin connectors (in 2x2 pattern), I've got one fitted into the motherboards ATX12V1 connector, and the other 4 pin connector cable tied out the way. Should I also fit this spare connector into the ATX12V1? :confused:

The system seems to be running fine, just not sure what this spare connector is for!

both 4 pins fit next to each other in the 8 pin socket shown above.
These supply additional voltage to the cpu. But as RJC said lower power chips don't really need the extra volts.

Ah. I was a little confused as one of the four pins has a square plug while the rest have a rounded bit. My system seems stable so I'll leave this spare connector not connected! :)

-- Edit -- Connected the other connector, and nothing blew up! :)
