Well, its pointless making these things and not sharing so heres a vid of a recent trip to Costa Rica. Absolutely wonderful place and I was so sad to leave it after just one week.

Not the greatest clips - I desperately need something with better image stabilisation and manual focus. I have also decided I will no longer use my stills camera and jsut stick with video - carting two cameras around and constantly swapping between the two means not taking enough time and care to do either as well as could be done.

Anyway

PS - theme music picked because the country seems to be stuck in the 80's music-wise, and this song was sung a number of times by the entertainment at the resort we stayed at :)

PPS - I anybosy knows of a utility which will help reduce camera shake, please let me know. There is one for VirtualDub I know of, but still unsure how to work it.

Nice, thanks for sharing. you make Costa Rica look lovely and unspoilt, is it?
Also, what's the wild cat in the vid?

Thinking about it, exactly 1 year ago today I embarked on a 6 week trip all over the USA and I took loads of shorts clips on my camera with the aim of putting them all together into a montage. But I haven't done it yet! You've reminded me I should totally do it :)

Thanks for comment.

Yes, there is a lot of unspoilt parts of the country, and it really is beautiful and diverse. 25% of the country is naitonal parks, and they are slowly claiming more land back to convert to create more/larger national parks.

No matter where you go though, you are likely to encounter plenty of wildlife.

I am actually rather disappointed with most of my footage, due to camera shake and sometimes not having camera ready due to using stills as well. Hence why I will no longer be doing still photography, and will be investing in a an HD camera with good stabilisation and good manual focus - hard to find though.

I would say do yourself a favour and do edit your footage from you US trip. It is nice having something accessible from something like that which you can just put up on youtube and watch whenever you ned a "pick-me-up" :)
