Recently got a Striker II Extreme and its been a nightmare, worst board I've ever had.
It constantly blue screened with Vista 64 due to the 4gb memory problem and when I finally downloaded the hotfix and SP1 and sorted it out I realised that the Asus AI software was using 25-50% CPU so uninstalled it.
I tried overclocking my Q6600 with the Step up feature but Vista froze on desktop at reboot, then tried manually and again it froze as soon as Vista loaded even on mild overclocks with plenty of voltage.
At stock speeds its fine but whats the point of paying £260 if you can't overclock, I'm going to try out an Intel P45 now so fingers crossed!

OCZ + asus = FAIL
Always overclock with bios, never use programs, do you have latest firmware for board? don't update bios with programs, do it the good old way with a memory stick or floppy (:D)

Ha ha, yes it is OCZ 1333 Platinum memory, but I got great overclocks on my P5K Premium with OCZ Reaper X.
Updated to latest bios, I'll try the P45 and see if its the O/S thats wobbly or my lack of skills. :p

I have OCZ memory in both my asus boards , p5n32e-sli and asus rampage formula.. so where do you get that info from ????

Both run fine and overclock fine, i think it is most likely the voltages have not been set right.

All the info is on the OCZ website , just look for your particular product number and you should find the voltage recomendations ;)

people do seem to have a thing about OCZ ram.

cant understand it myself, I run rampage extreme, rampage formula, max formula and a p5b all run OCZ, over clock no problem and stable.

give them the right volts and they fly, and with tighter timings.

I've just got a rampage formula board and it's not ment to support OCZ RAM but it seems to work ok at the mo. (not 100% stable yet but i'll get there... I hope)

Well my trusty OCZ Reaper X seems to work on the new P45 board maybe I should have stuck to Intel and DDR2 in the first place as it was the first nvidia board I've used.

Think you will find that OCZ memory is supported , both asus and OCZ say it is supported on the asus rampage formula, i can confirm this as i have OCZ memeory in my Rampage Formula motherboard currenty running at 1066 Mhz with a q9550 oc'd to 4Ghz on air...

Great board and great memory , as long as you get the volts for NB and Memory set right you wont have any problems.

Dont know about the 790i chipset but i would suggest setting the Mem volts to 2.1v and increasing the NB volts slightly if you are having stability problems. Keep an eye on the NB temps, as i said i dont have a 790i board but my 680i board runs fine with OCZ memory (its the 2Gb sli Kit running at 1066Mhz with a Q6600 oc'd to 3.2Ghz)

Well I have the Asus Striker II Extreme 790i chipset with 4 gig OCZ mem and
Q6600 @3375 and 2 GTX 280'S in sli, with XP. Solid no ploblems.
