yep - apparently took a police officer with a military background to question the dubious title he'd given himself - quite worrying that other police officers had been fooled by it.

Surely there must be some sort of way to confirm a persons identity. Even if the police have no way to know if the card is real or not can they not just call in the number on the card and have them contact the security services to confirm that number is legit?
