Berbatov's skill v Hammers

Nice skill :)

Although I prefered Redondo's (think it was him) in the Man Utd v Real Madrid game quite a few years back, not exactly the same trick but was still great to watch.

what i like about Berbatov is he makes it look all too easy.

Nobody made it look easier than Zidane. Effortless.
Here's an example, from the end of his career when he was past his best, all in the same match against the reigning world champions (there's some filler in there, but overall he's a great example of not needing pace to beat a man): http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SvYlvkWpPy4

Well... actually MLT arguably made goalscoring look easier, but not allround play: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pfpP3zOfEPs
(just watch how casual some of that stuff is, really everyone should watch the whole vid, but if you can only spare a minute or so skip to 5:45 for a few cheeky ones)

It was redondo (what ever happend to him?) up against henning berg i think? Both in same corner of the ground where i sit in the cheap seats :p

I can do the elastico, not quite as well as Big Ron, but still fairly effectively. Like others have said, Berba's one wasn't that technically fantastic-it's the sort of thing you can do in your garden or in training pretty easily. However, to have the awareness, and also the balance to stop and turn after running full tilt, is what was impressive.

If he could just start knocking the goals in, Anderson would be one of the most complete players in the world in a couple of years time.

That imo is far more skillfull that the Berbatov trick, no matter how many times I've tried it I can't pull it off, whereas with the Berba trick I might be able to do it 1 in 100 times :D

But he kicks the ball out  Can't really be compared to beating a defender and setting up a goal.

Oh I know its an impressive trick, but he didn't exactly pull it off did he? Berbatov's may be less impressive technically but he pulled it off perfectly and set up a goal.

More impressed with the balance of Berbatov there than anything else.

To run onto the ball, slow down, turn around to face the other way, get the perfect touch to take it past the player and then run away with the ball, whilst staying upright, is mightily impressive.

It's a nice trick but it's not too difficult, proven by the fact I can do it and have many times in the same area of the pitch.
