Top Clown returns Sunday 2nd November 2008 **SPOILERS**

Good stuff, and the dog of course ( can't remember it's name )

used to read Bike all the time :)

Im starting to actually think that 5th gear is a better car show.

Top gear is good fun to watch but its becoming less and less of a car show, and more of just random entertainment. It should do some proper vehicle comparisons, or maybe road test some cars that us normal people can afford.

its always supercars that we couldnt dream of owning

As it should be. I can't drive a Lambo, so I'd like to see somebody else doing it.

If I want to see if the new Golf R32 is any good I can go to my local dealer and ask to drive it myself. Why would I want to watch Clarkson doing it for me?

If Prime Time TV was just stuff Average Joe could afford, it would contain the Aldi Cooking Program, the Financed <electrical store> TV Show, and reviews of 5 year old boring family cars...

I think the point people are trying is there is a happy medium to be had. Scrap parky (why go on a driving program if you hate driving? oh yes, to plug...) and scrap the trucks. Replace trucks with hot hatch shoot out/mid or high end saloon etc so you've still got your super cars but you've also got something a bit more in reach of the normal minion.

Couldn't agree more. Just because some of us find destroying vehicles a bit tiresome after the first 10 times doesn't mean we want Which Car reviews of 1.0L hatchbacks. There's loads of interesting things to see and talk about on 4 wheels and 2. Here's a few suggestions off the cuff.

Supercar road tests.
3 car shootouts - could be a hot hatch, saloon or estate as long as they are hot.
Concept cars and new technology.
Motorsport highlights.
Interviews with racers.
The same again for bikes.
Then 10 minutes of mucking about wouldn't be out of place.

The whole point is that humour can be injected in all of the above to make it more interesting. JC is very, very funny but he's running the risk of becoming an aging buffoon in TG.

Agreed wholeheartedly - it wouldn't be too much change required to get the balance of silliness and fun with good motoring journalism.

Silly complaints, I hope nothing comes of it. It was making fun of a stereotype, any sane person knows that truckers don't all go around murdering prossies.

The Daily Mail readers are getting over confident. They might have scared Russell Brand off, however Clarkson will eat them for breakfast after telling exactly how he intends to do it.

Clarkson for PM :D

In a week following thousands of similar complaints to the BBC over comments made by Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand, this is in particularly poor taste. It is just another example of celebrities having the licence to say absolutely anything they like.

Thousands v Clarksons 200 complaints.

Outrage!

Lorryists, get a life! It's a joke! ;)

Not RX420/DN423 as it seemed he found it funny :)

What happend to 'British' black humour? Would faulty towers ever be allowed to air?

As for the episode... well... although enjoyable its starting to deviate far too far away from being a motoring program.

I guess people didn't get the joke. I always thought in general clarkson was complimenting lorry drivers by saying how hard it is?

This country has lost its sence of humor it seems.

Truckers are not going to take offence, were too busy looking for whores and sharpening our knives! :p
