Back when i kept up to speed with pc hardware it was easy bigger number = faster card.

Now not so sure.

Anyway I have an Intel based system with an SLI OCUK x1950, i have had quite a few problems with this system which i am fairly sure is down to the graphics card, either ATI not liking the intel chipset or overheating.

What I am looking for now is a replacement somewhere around the £100 mark from Nvidia.
I am not sure which cards support the latest direct X etc.

Any help would be appreciated here

James.

Ok quite often i get black screens that sometimes reload destop sometimes don't and i have to reboot, sometimes when they reload they go back to normal sometimes the screens get reset and i have to swap the posistions back in display properties.

Sometimes the PC just flat out freezez up on me.

I am fairly confident it is an overheating problem.
system I am running is as follows

Windows Vista (URGH *spit*)
Abit IP35-E
intel pentium duo E2160
OCUK branded Radeon X1950 Pro
2 x 1gb sticks of ram

was the pc like this when you first got it?

if not, have you ever cleaned your pc out inc. GPU cooler?

Can't remember I don't pay atention to stuff like i used to or should do.

It is kept reasonably clean, all the fans also have filters on them which helps to keep the dust down.

I think I am right in saying the x1950 pro is a card that runs hot anyway ?
