yeah tweaked roms turn it into a bit of an animal its very fast since i flashed the TOR rom, basically as a standard rom but very fast, nothing stripped out.

Only trouble is now loads of people at work have got them as they like it so much so not so exclusive now.

ok since reading this thread, i am thinking i should upgrade my rom, since i have not touched it original one that came with it.

just 2 questions.

which is the best rom?

and does this invalidate my warranty with HTC and my insurance insurance?

I'm pretty sure your warranty is out of the window straight away with a reflash. Though I suppose you might get away with it if you reflashed with an official ROM. (Think engine remaps for cars)

The question with ROMs is suck it and see. People on the XDA developer forums are wetting themselves for Duttys latest ROM but after a day I found a bug which makes it unusable for me ( won't come out of handsfree mode with bluetooth device). To be fair though this is an RC2 and not a final.

Just put the new orange rom back on if you need to return it. Try Panosha for a decent pretty rom

and don't forget to put a hard-spl on first or you will brick your device

Tried two of Panoshas ROMs now.

The really simple one brings some really obvious speed advantages.

Do you need to be with orange to use it?

Will you be able to update the winmo when it is 7.0?

If you're not on orange I don't see why it wouldn't work to be honest. You could always use a custom ROM

As for 7.0 im not sure though my phone does randomly check for updates so who knows

I am now happy yes. Though my experience differs with Neil's in that mine felt pretty poor even with the latest Orange ROM. Mine is now running with a stripped out ROM without even the sexy interface. I'm still trying various ROMs for the best trade off between user experience and speed/reliability.

I have also unlocked it and used my Vodafone SIM so yes you can use it on other networks. Around £400 sim free though.
