Mini is broke.. but another issue.. Dealer Service!!

That's not a HUD. Do you know what a HUD is!?

And I wouldn't have driven 20 miles with steam everywhere and coolant leaking, and I'm the king of bodgers with a £50 Astra engine in my car that I could change at the roadside....

This a coolant level alarm? If you reached the dealer with an empty header tank, then it's really doing it's job.

It's the tempreture guage thing, it went off the last time this happened, there was still some in the expansion tank, last time the tank had completeley emptied before it went off..

I don't know what else to call it lol :) but yes, I know what Fox was thinking, he was thinking about the windscreen projector thing..

I'm on about this thing:

(or have a look to see if it's something obvious I can do at the roadside myself, loose cap or the like)

That hardly sounds like a brilliant idea either?

Mess around the engine bay with scalding hot steam pouring out of every orifice.

No thanks. :p

Silly question time, BMW assist better than say....Green Flag etc ?

I've used them a few times, never had to wait any more than an hour... but again the downside with them again is that they don't loan cars out to anyone under 21..

I'm never going to be under 21 again so that's not really a worry :p

So basically any car bought from a BMW dealer is covered by BMW assist as long as the warranty remains valid, this is what 3yrs ?

Correct.

BMW Assist is free for 3 years with any new BMW, is free for one year with any BMW Approved Used Car and is included in the cost of any BMW Insured Warranty product.

Same goes for Mini as part of the warranty..

Well yes, obviously.

The one time I used BMW Assist I went to get my hire car and they had an E500 all ready for me.

Then they found out my age.

I left in a Vauxhall Meriva 1.4 Enjoy. I did not Enjoy.

The car is called "Enjoy" ?

and is included in the cost of any BMW Insured Warranty product.

I'm sure there's a breakdown in their fine print on what this means but I assume that means if you take your car in for major work that has a warranty cover - this would apply ?

That said, my mates company car isn't exactly shabby...

Company cars rock, here's a few of the fantastic advantages that stem from having a company car:

- It accelerates at a phenomenal rate;
- It has a much shorter braking distance than your private car;
- It takes speed bumps at twice the speed of private cars;
- The battery, radiator water, oil and tyres never have to be checked;
- It can be driven up to 60 miles with the oil warning light flashing;
- It needs cleaning less often than private cars;
- The suspension is reinforced to allow for the weekend loads of bricks, concrete slabs and other building material;
- Unusual and alarming engine noises are easily eliminated by turning up the radio;
- It needs no security system and may be left anywhere, unlocked and with the keys in the ignition; and
- It has special food and drink resistant seat material unlike a private car. :p

No, it means exactly what I said - buy a BMW Insured Warranty, get BMW Assist for a year.
