My partner traded in her underpowered Merc for this:

SL55 AMG, 03, 35,000 miles, fsh, warranty, new Pirellis, usual toys etc

As I had no stake in the SL350 (secondhand gift from Daddy Dearest, don't ask), we split the cash difference to up the power stakes a tad. I didn't have much of a say in some the matters, personally would have gone for a different colour (this is Tellurite silver, sort of a bluish hue) and I pretend the wheels just don't exist, but she loves it.

Having spent the weekend with it, I really, really love the engine. The car itself does a few things brillantly, a lot of things very well and the rest more than adequately. It sounds glorious, but obviously very thirsty. Bit short, I know, will finish this off properly when I get back.

Ocuk's "new motors" threads are usually full of arguments and discussion

this is just going to be a one make forumeque ego massage

on that note ...

nice car :D

Great purchase - looks amazing :). Loving some of the bargains you can get on AMG's at the moment, having just seen what the price of E55's has done in the last few months!

There can be no arguement or discussion in this thread. Whats to argue? The SL is one of the finest cars ever built and the SL55 is one of the best variants. Whichever way you look at it, it's stunning. There is no alternative car thats better - if you want this sort of car, you buy an SL.

You went half in to the proper SL and you're still cooking dinner?

Good God Man! Sort It Out! :D

Still, with this, a STI PPP, 330d M Sport, A8 V8 TDI, and a GTR Black on order you are ridiculously good at choosing cars. Fair play sir... :)
