Obama is without doubt very charismatic but he never says anything concrete, it is just the same old emotional rhetoric that the yanks fall for in their droves. Everyone thought Clinton was great as well, or so we all thought. Just like Labour, the Democrats always screw it up because on a fundamental level their political philosophy is wrong. Granted there is no direct comparison between Labour and the Democrats but the point still stands. Labour are not right for Britain and The Democrats are not right for our American friends.

Anyway, McCain could take Obama in a fight, he is tough, stocky and was a POW, Obama is a lanky prettyboy. :D
I just had this very argument with someone, and got labelled a racist. Go figure.

So how would you tax the country then?

Middle class = 0-10%?
Working class = 60-70%?

Yes so when he gets beaten over the head with intelegent debate, he can get physical. :p

But can you give me one good reason they deserve to bear the burden of paying more tax? why should they? what did they do to deserve that?

I propose no income tax what so ever and instead implement a fair tax.

Obama is a religious nutt too you know, as are many african americans.

Do you know what, I really hate that term 'african american'. Most so called 'african americans' don't even know where Africa is!

How the **** can you be of two places, you are either American or you are African, just in the same way you are British and nothing else. Your ethnicity should make no difference, if in any country on the planet, surely the USA is the template. We have similar problems in the UK with idiots thinking they can have a foot in both camps, well, IMHO, you can't.

While we are on the subject of religion, I find it absolutely frightening that these religious frootloops are in charge of the the most powerful military machine ever seen. It makes me uncomfortable, especially when they start quoting from Revelations!

Because they have a higher standard of living over the lower earners, the standard of living should only ever go up.

What is a 'fair tax'?

Well, they have more money silly so should pay more tax! They've worked harder or inherited money... so must support those that haven't worked as hard etc.

Bull isn't it?

Because people don't get rich and poor based on how hard they work, except in rare cases.

Therefore, if you believe that people deserve to have a decent start in life regardless of how wealthy their parents are, tax the rich and give the poor education. Give them health. Because that's what it means to be human, to care about those less fortunate then yourself.

What is this humanity you speak of?

Give a man a fish and he'll expect a fish everyday. Help those that help themselves.

A "Robin Hood" strategy is unsustainable.

Obama, simple because imo Palin is a complete retard and I don't like a lot of McCains overly conservative ideas...

What differences would there be if either become president? Not much at all imo. People are voting obamo becuase its a bigger change from the bush regime, which is what people think is best becuase bush failed.

Isn't that what education is?
A university lecturer of mine visits Ghana (or Gambia) every-year to conduct microbial research.

He commented once how Western charities had improved the villages quality of life by building a water well, and educating them on clean water and hygiene. One year he returned, he found the villagers had resorted to old practices of drinking dirty water, using the same water as a toilet and for washing... all because the well had broken. There as another well less than 2 miles away. Whereas before they would happily walk miles for water, since the clean water was at their doorstep, they came to expect it.

Education isn't everything.

Because they are more often then not massive consumers with huge carbon footprints compared to your average joe!
Tax based on carbon footprints? Better tax volcanoes and cows then....
