hi -
had my cpu q6600 at 3ghz on air and saw idle temps of around 38'C
load temps of around 62'C
ffg.jpg

then got to 3.3ghz on air again and saw 44'C idle
load temps of around 69'C

same at 3.4ghz on air - 46'C idle , 72'C load

got my water in now
still at 3.4GHz am seeing
30'C idle, 58'C Load for 4 hours

are these temps about average for watercooling?

using this kit:
tfc 120 xchanger rad
xspc res/pump combo
ocz hydroflow block

let me know your thoughts

think im going to push for 3.6/3.8 tomorrow

also got a few bubbles clinging onto the inside of the tubes
system has been bled properly

any ideas?

every time i boot now i get a prompt saying no cpu fan detected - press f1 to continue

any way of switching this off?

turned speedstep on and remounted the block using another washer on each pin
not that speedstep should make a difference at load...

not going above 52'C at full load for an hour!

i guess thats good

room is pretty cold

Lo mate I have my Q6600 @ 3.6 at it idles at around 28 27 23 23 at the moment, but it is a tad chilly.

I personally think your temps look fine.

As for the no CPU fan detected - you should be able to disable that in BIOS

As for the bubbles - it hasnt bled properly if there are bubbles, if theyre sat in the topp of bends in tubes, try tilting your PC to get them out :)

I'm getting mid 30's idle at the mo and worse temp under load was about 61 @ 3.0ghz and at 3.4 ghz there is no change in temp at either clock

I've only got a small water cooler so didn't expect great temps just safe ones.
while on air I had 55 idle and 75 plus load @ 3.0ghz so a huge difference for me

generally mine ideals around low 30's with 1.5v through cpu needed for 3.37ghz. Hits low 60's under 100% load from Prime. Fans are all running at 800rpm so plenty of room to crank up the fans etc. Vid on cpu is crap 1.325v

Got a nice shiney Q6600 1.215vid to play with today!!

cant find the setting - will post in the p5q thread in the motherboards section

so similar-ish results to me then - cool - cheers for letting me know

thats alright then - another similar result - is this a 120 rad you are using?

the new 6600 with the low vid sounds very nice mines a 1.3 but to be fair - doesnt need a lot of volts over stock to run at 3.4GHz

Turn of CPU fan monitoring in BIOS

Rock the case/ rad about to get rid of the bubbles.

Temps are pretty good considering you're only on a single 120mm rad.

Find the option in bios that says something like, don't pause on error. then you don't have to press F1.

Or if you don't want the message at all, then attach a case fan to the cpu fan header. Its what i have done

idle temps are next to completely irrelevant.

I'm idling at about 40c on a triple rad but its completely passive ie fans totally off and in a warm house.. watch for the load temps and to be honest late 40s to late 50s are all fine if you've got your fans on low.

But either way you're way under the thermal spec so don't worry!

I ought to write a book on "how I learned to ignore my temps and stop worrying if my pc was working" lol!!

put my fans on now and I'l idling at 30...

does it make even the slightest difference other than offending my ears?

nope!

is a single rad really worth it? i get simular temps on air (when the weather is right :p).

but w/c does look very sweet idd.
