*** The Official Gaming Keyboard Thread ***

Back on topic.

Ive got the saitek eclipse 2, i think its a fantastic keyboard, nice feeling on the keys, and its far more fun to use than my high end blutooth logitech one that cost me twice as much.

Also have this keyboard, very comfortable to use with both gaming and general web browsing, purple seems to be the colour that stands out the most but use red 99% of the time. Paired with the MX518 mouse, HG monitor and CM690 case i at last have a fully colour coded PC :)

these keyboards beep if you press more than four keys or five a once

in some games you need to do this and its very annoying hearing a constant beeping

I use a rather ancient, slightly fading white keyboard of unknown maker/origin.

It has the best key press feel I've found on just about any keyboard, and doesnt spazz out when you hit more that 3 keys at once, like the MS keyboards do!

All in all, I love it - I cant ever buy a keyboard online, unless I've tried it out somewhere first.

Didn't you know that every thread made on OcUK has to have an official title these days. It's what makes it seem important...

No no no no NO! It's to stop people posting in all the other gaming keyboard threads :p

Seriously, my keyboard's keys don't glow, it doesn't have an lcd readout with useless information on it, and it certainly doesn't have a hard sounding name to justify a massive price tag and increase my manliness. After six months it'll be clogged up with crumbs and stuff and I'll probably chuck it and buy another cheap one.

I have the g15, some of the macro keys are handy and the dispay can be helpful. Other than the fact it look better than an £8 keyboard i cant actually tell the differance.

G15 blue keys.

good points:
backlit keys so can type/game in the dark.
programmable keys for macro
option to disable windows keys
can turn the blue backlights off if u want

bad points:

even after a couple of years i make more typing errors than with the m$ keyboards i had
size....it takes up too much room.
usb ports on back are not usb 2...so they are fairly useless

I used to have a gaming keyboard (Saitek Eclipse) Then it became the first keyboard to ever die on me. Now I have a simple Cherry keyboard, no point in gaming keyboards imo.

built in laptop keys atm,

had a razor microsoft reclusa before, sucks as i couldnt turn the lights off when i leave it on overnight.

Mines not a gaming one per say. Its a logitech MX 3200 wireless board. I use it along side my MX revolution mouse. Even though they are wireless they work perfectly for me. Even in a fast paced game like TF2 I'm quite often in the top 5 on the server. Main reason for it is that it looks nice and matches my mouse.
