In Mcdonalds today...

I used to love it when people asked for:

'A burger wiv non of that **** on it'

I honestly think that Maccies is a better place to work than many places (at the time I worked there anyway). I certainly didnt have issues with getting days off like a lot of saturday jobs, I also worked with a lot of people my age and in similar situations (Uni students) so it was a good laugh. Plus you worked hard so time flew by.

Future employees like it as it does give you a lot of experience in a retail environment, certainly more than stacking shelves.

Haven't had a McDonalds in years, they may taste good but its just not worth that feeling of being violated you get afterwards.

People spitting in food is another myth.

Also it's a far cleaner food preparation environment than 99% of restaurants. It's just one of those places that people seem to enjoy slagging off, despite never working there.

Haha that wouldn't suprise me! McDonald's is horrible.. not had one for over a year now :D and counting.. lol

5/6 years for me at least - but I'm a food snob :p. Irrespective of whether or not they use 100% beef (which is a lie anyway) or not it's not going to be good quality lean meat end of. Else the burgers would cost closer to £7/£8 minimum and even then I'd be wary.

I had a burger from there the other day, i havent had one since i was a kid, and it was terrible. I swear they used to be completely different 10-12 years ago.

lol i had a burger king the otherday ..... they were good.now its like just being being abused....and not the good kind !

I think BK bean burger is ace! only have it once every few months though, but its all the better the longer you don't have one :)

£8 for a takeaway burger, what?

I said it should cost at least that much for it to be half decent quality meat... since it's no where near that amount (how much are they? 4quid?) then I doubt the quality of the meat or any of the ingredients in fact.

i heard they had bought the company that made the burger patties and renamed it "100% beef" so they could say we use "100% beef" burgers..

whether its true or not I dont know! I rarely eat them.

I tend to agree with you however the meat is wafer thin so there's not much meat in each burger. ;)

Also making claims like
"made using 100% beef - whole cuts of high quality forequarter and flank" and "Nothing is added or taken away from the beef - preservatives, additives, binders or fillers are never used" in their literature would have them dragged over the coals for breaking false advertising or other such laws if it wasn't true.
found that here btw http://www.mcdonalds.co.uk/resources/img/sections/eatsmart/Nutrition.pdf

Now I'm not saying McDonalds are angels and their food is healthy to eat all the time but I think they're not half as bad as some make out. In fact burger vans, kebab houses and other such places probably use more products of dubious origin and makeup than McDonalds.
