Yeh, if you watch the footage online they mention carbon fibre bits scattered arround ans theres a guy inspecting the track for dints etc, you'll see the worst hit rider down for a while then holding his leg, it turns out they found carbon fibre fragments in his thigh and calf :confused:

Sounds about right considering you don't step off those bikes, that's why the other riders just keep riding round, you're literally untied from them. Since none of those riders where still on their bikes after the crash you can only assume they shattered the carbon cranks, amongst other things i'm sure by the looks of things!
