I totally agree, the lighting in Fc2 is miles ahead of l4d, after all l4d is just the hl2 engine and looks just like hl2 textures and gfx and cannot be compared to the beauty of Fc2 gfx. Specsavers for you mks2005 *Urgently* !!!

OK replace the word graphics with "visual style" then.
 
In what aspect? It's just the HL2 engine nothing spectacular these days. That said, the game itself (demo) is enjoyable especially as it has co-op enabled which is something that has been missed on a lot of top titles these days and a joy to play through a game with friends.

Agreed, the co-operative aspect is what really makes it. Although it's too soon to judge without seeing the full game, I do feel they've successfully managed this singleplayer-multiplayer cross-over excellently. I agree I was being a bit harsh on FC2 as its still a pretty game, I just love the crisp, polished style of source games though. Everything just feels so clean and pleasing to the eye, L4D being no exception. Perhaps it's not as realistic, but I just prefer it visually, personally.
 
Just played through singleplayer on expert and i totally love it, what an FPS should be in my book and zombie are awesome :D

Shame a predominently co-op game can't really be experienced co-op at the moment :rolleyes:
 
Well, y'all had better be right cos I've just pre-ordered. Is there a faster way of downloading the demo somewhere rather than the Steam servers tho? I seem to be barely getting above 20kb/s.

Has anyone else noticed the ping meters are represented with a console esque wireless signal bar? Just connected to a game before it crashed and it felt very sluggish even though the sp was flawless.
 
Am looking forward to the full thing - the demo defo looks good fun - if only I could actually get anywhere in it without crashes :/

Am thinking I might try completely disabling on monitor and seeing if that helps at all.

Mine keeps crashing at a certain point, prob a corrupt download, the AI characters seem a bit odd, all three of them just got themselves stuck in a wardrobe :D
 
I know this has probably already been asked (sorry!), but is this a beta demo? I'm not too enthused by the number of people experiencing problems.
