What size screen are you after? It would (maybe) a lot easier going for a smaller one as they often run from a low voltage with an external power brick. This way you only have to run a 12v power feed which is safer than running a 240v one.

Many 19" LCD's run from 12v, meaning you could even run it from a 12v battery. This maybe a good temporary solution, but you'd still need to run a cable from your tuner/dvd player (unless you've got a battery powered DVD player). I use quite a similar system for having an in bathroom hi-fi:

The silver box is a small amp that runs from 12v, the black thing on top the speaker is a battery pack made from a hacked up battery pack, and I use my mobile phone as an MP3 player. I admit it doesn't look pretty but I've used it for well over a year with no problems (touch wood) - plus as it's low voltage even if it gets thrown in the bath nothing dramatic will happen. :cool:

The only thing is my hifi uses around 10W of power while a 19" LCD would use around 50W, meaning running from batteries you'd only be able to watch an episode of top gear, but wouldn't last long enough for Titanic. ;)
 
Please don't do what Mike is suggesting, It is not safe. The current used by these devices mixed into the bath with you is not good at all.

Voltage doesn't kill, the current does. 50w lcd + bath tub = :eek:

There are also laws in the UK about installing electrical equipment in bathrooms etc. I don't know the ins and outs, but items must be special to qualify etc. This is all for good reason as too many people took part in the Darwin experiment.
 
As I said before I will be getting a professional to fit this. I have the best tools in the world and they stay that way because I never touch them. I can set fire to ice and melt diamonds, its a talent. :D

I am looking at getting one of these, this model is only 19" but i am sure larger models exist of a similar nature. They seem to sell for around £500 which is great VFM in my opinion.

You build them into the wall like a tile, and while off they act as a mirror as you can see. They sell at around £500 on ebay as a guide to pricing, i'd expect to pay no more than double that for the size you are after.
