Is the 360 Left 4 Dead demo out on Live today?

Seeing as PC Games are getting moist in intimate places over this I thought I'd ask if any one knows when the demo is out on live?

I've been doing some reading and it looks like it's set for today, can any one confirm this?

Valve sent over a press release announcing that a demo of Left 4 Dead is scheduled to begin today, around 2 am PST on the Xbox 360 and 7 am PST on the PC. This promotion is being offered in addition to the 10% savings for those who pre-order and applies to all Steam PC pre-orders and all PC and Xbox 360 pre-orders from GameStop and EB Games in North America. On November 11 the demo will be made available to all PC and Xbox 360 gamers worldwide, with no obligation to purchase. The demo concludes on November 18, when Left 4 Dead will be made available at retail outlets across North America and worldwide via Steam.

I wasn't aware there were any pre-order codes for this. Is it just a US thing?

Again, it's a rather silly marketing ploy. Pre-order the game and you get the demo a whole week earlier than everyone else. Like that stupid time trial code in Mirror's Edge. Pre-order that game and get a code for the demo. Sounds nuts to me.
 
This somehow slipped under my radar what with everything else coming out. Does look spiffy though.

Really? That sounds ridiculass. I thought demos where there so you could make you mind up weather or not you liked the game or not. If you've had to buy/preorder the game to get the demo that defeats the purpose of downloading the demo surely.
 
Ah but if you'd called it a beta instead of a demo then every one would be all over it.

As it stands I think you have a lot of people who are disinterested with this as it could be another TF2.

That said I've used that link above to register for a key, if I get one I'll be able to form an opinion based on the demo before release like I should have always been able to.

Apparently Gamestop do not check the transaction ID, although I'd imagine they will/have notice a large influx of code request and shortly close the loop hole - waiting for my code [crosses fingers]

Another TF2?

TF2 is an amazing game, unless you mean the poor console version.
 
Thats the first complaint ive heard about the demo/game and thats from a lot of people I know who pre-ordered it! I think im going to save some pennies and pre-order it online for £23 !
