Got it to this so far on the stock cooler.

1.3v and 62c load while priming with rthdribl running on the stock cooler.

Worth getting a better cooler? Maybe get better clocks on 1.33v with lower temps or just keep it as is?

Well first off always use coretemp to measure temps. And yes with a better cooler you'd be able to reach 4Ghz probably. Just gotta notch the FSB up to 400, match it with some decent PC6400 RAM and you're away.

Well Thermal Specification of the e7300 is 74.1ºC so u are safe to push it further! New cooler will just mean that it can run cooler at higher volts which might mean a quieter system as the cooler's fan would not need to work so hard and potentially higher overclock. But u havent reached the limit of the stock cooler yet so keep going ;)

Just done some benching.

3dmark 06 gave 10406 2.6ghz and 11430 3.3ghz

Crysis warhead doesnt like the higher clock though!

I get 31fps at 3.33ghz and 40fps at 2.6ghz LOL at 1360x768 2xAA??????

Also fallout 3 - 47fps at 3.33ghz 56fps 2.66ghz. Same res 2xAA 8xAF. Strange.

Dead space gives 91fps at 2.66 95fps at 3.00 and 88 at 3.33. Never seen this behaviour before, must be some overhead on the graphics card as its only a 8800GTS and low resolution causing loss in performance.

What memory divider are you using for each setting?

Same 2:3. All I do is overclock with the msi software just change the FSB and voltage while running the game.

Its only games that this happens in. CPU benchmarks like sandra all show huge improvements going from 2.6 to 3.3 same for the memory.

This is interesting check this out.

*Bios overclock* only uninstalled core center.

266mhz FSB (confirmed with getfsb) Crysis Warhead = 27FPS/30fps with 8800 at 600/770 (max it will go)
333mhz FSB = 27FPS/30fps with 8800 at 600/770 (max it will go)

Overclock with core center!

266mhz FSB = 34fps/40 with 8800 at 600/925 (core center overclocks better?)
333mhz FSB = 27fps/31fps with 8800 at 600/925

So from 30fps bios overclock + 8800 at max to 40fps using core center?

Why do i lose 9fps lol? Or should I say where does the magic 10fps come from.
