It's because so many people mistake them for Bentleys, and thus some owners are tools and take advantage of that.

I love them as well, not really sure why.

Looks like a Lego village, with a gray base plate ..

But it's not 4 garages, it's 5 - the smart car is parked outside it's garage... :)

I've never understood them myself. They just look, well, american. Just too big, and look 'cheap' somehow.
 
Saw this today while in the contraflow on the m4 between jct 13 and 14.

If you can't tell (which you probably can't due to the crap quality of the iphones camera), that's a jag which has had it's number plate removed, duct tape stuck on and then the registration number written on with a marker pen :o
 
No picture, but I followed a Range Rover Sport the other night with the number plate 'R1'. I don't think I have ever seen such a simple registration before, I wonder if it was worth more than the car?
 
The guy has probably had it for a lifetime and bought it at a time when it was cheaper!
