Hi,
I've read that you can store films on the hard drive of the Xbox 360, but are you able to store full games on it? Like if i borrowed a game from a friend could it be stored on it??

No.

When the NXE comes out you'll be able to copy the contents of the disk to the HDD, but you will still need the disk in the console to play (to prove you own it).

But films can be stored on the hard drive, which shouldn't that be illegal also?
and can RIP music from CD's to it

Just do what i do, Stream video file's from your PC (if you have one close by to your 360). Silence's the DVD drive which annoyed me when watching horror flicks.

I beleive you can put DivX encoded video's (not sure the format may be .avi) onto your 360 to play of the HDD, but i have not tried this.

You can't copy anything to your 360's HDD. Only music can be stored and that is put there by ripping from a CD.

You can't copy movies to it (last time I checked). You will be able to copy games to the HDD from Nov 19 (NXE), but not for the purposes you describe. You could borrow your mate's copy and load it to the HDD for convenience/noise minimisation, but you will only be able to play with the disc in the drive. Maybe if it is a game you borrow frequently it would be worth copying to your HDD?

If what you really mean is both of you play the same copy of the game on separate machine at the same time, then no, this will never work.
