RESISTANCE 2 DISCUSSION (PS3)

Hmm, so does it change the difficulty when more players join? 8 player co-op just sounds like madness. Playing L4D with 3 other players is a lot to take in.

It changes difficulty according to how many players there are and how well they are playing. It dynamically sets new objectives according to how many people are present, how quickly the previous objective was cleared and a i think how many casualties weren't revived during the previous objective. If you end up with a particularly good team of 8 people things just become insane, however as you're with a good team that typically isn't a problem :).

[EDIT] Oh and on the madness front, you have to consider for starters the majority of enemies will be shooting at you, not running at you manically like they do in L4D, so that calms down things a bit. Also as there are three different classes it breaks down the structure of the game a bit, for example you'll have soldiers up the front with their shields up, soaking up the damage and mowing down the baddies with their chain gun, with sharpshooters behind them feeding ammo to keep the shields up while taking a few pot shots at the enemy and then medics holding up the back, healing the ones that do take the occasional hit. It's actually surprisingly structured.

Cool. Can't wait till its out. I'd order from the states but too many games are coming out just now, so, waiting till the end of nov is for the best. :)

Well Ive just played the first hour of the beta and I quite like it - though its hard to get a game as some hosts are usually AFK . It feels like a simplified ETQW and I might get it for the co-op feature - only had one game though where ppl did what the classes required...

Was fun but so might try and see if any of you are on one day and have a game before it closes...

ps3ud0

On the wisdom of Mr Smalls and Mr RP, I have ordered this from Canada. I wonder what will happen with the stats accrued in the beta. Whether they will reset or carry over.

Can you email in trust with the website you used please? I've been looking around on import shops for a while, but with no luck :(

Happy days my Resistance 2 collectors edition has turned up today :D Although the dumb postie left it on my door step outside the flat

Quick! Fire it up and see if your XP is still intact.

It almost certainly won't be, they'll reset everything to zero just like they do with all other betas. Reason being that typically a few things have changed here and there so giving some a head start probably throws off the balance a little.

Your XP doesnt carry over, which as rp said is a good idea. The co-op is a lot better than the Beta, just been playing a couple of games with people across the pond, no lag, matchmaking was fine etc. Single player starts better than RFOM, the stuff they have added is very cool, and new chimera are fun apart from furies. Loving it so far :D

Oh well. I don't think it'll take too long to get back to where I was. What are the co-op maps like? Do you get to choose which one you want to play on or do you have to complete them in order until you've finished the co-op campaign? How many are there? What is the significance of the 12 Mission Reports?

Just Finished the SP game took about 12 hrs or so, this was a straight run through no searching around for hidden stuff, just lots of killing and me dieing lol. :D

Is it similar to MP co-op, where you have to munch through hordes of enemies? I actually disliked that - it felt like Dynasty Warriors.

From what I've heard wave after wave constantly attacks you and it's apparently a negative thing. But I have to argue what else is the point in a FPS if you are not mowing down wave after wave?

Not all the co-op is like that and the SP is not like that, well maybe in a few places but not like the MP mode cant say anymore.

I've read some people have got this on import order in here, however i've tried a few websites and none of them seem to want to ship to the UK :(. I've found an Asian import of the game (not ideal) and it says the language is "English". Has anyone ordered an Asian import that actually has English language?
