What's that new mp3 site called. All drm free and unlimited downloads to keep forever. Costs about £100 a year. But at the moment they only have a few of the big name publishers.

Seems good anyone signed up? how many full albums are on there as the search seems to bring up tracks.

what bitrate are the mp3's in?

That's always my suspicion. Why can't you pay £100 and download £1000 worth of music and then not bother to renew the next year.

You can, the catch at the moment is, it doesn't have all the record labels on board. but they are in negotiation with the others.

has to be a catch?
£100 per year for unlimited DRM free music smells iffy to me
When people might be nabbing anything they want, DRM free, I'm sure they'd be glad of the £100.

Paying for music might become an alien concept for people who are kids or young teenagers today.

exactly i see it as a step in the right direction, which some music bosses have signed upto.
music doesn't need to cost what it does. There are no shop over heads, very few wages, little distribution costs.

this is a very similar setup to online dvd rental. I think this is the future for online distribution, you pay a monthly fee and have what you want.
All though I could see it changing to the same as ISP. the more GB you download the more your monthly subscription. I think this is just a trial run as it says limited edition.

so let me get this right.
you pay £100 and get 1 years worth of unlimited music with no DRM of any kind to download and keep forever?
where do I sigh up?

If that's the truth and all labels get on board then there is FINALLY a viable digital alternative.

CDs are normally slightly cheaper and higher quality, plus the physical aspect. With this, the seriously cheap price negates it.

I'm honestly stunned.

I rather get £100 worth of music that I really enjoy and that I can listen for ever rather that getting some albums that I will not even listed once.

Anyway I will never touch a digital download, buying CDs is just better imo and cheaper in many ocasions.
