Recommend me a Gugbyte p45?

For the 100-120 mark I'd be checking out the UD3 range. They are certainly the newest of their P45 range, are cheap and getting some really good reviews. Have a search around for some of the reviews of the UD3P and see what you think.

^+1 i would defo read a few reviews from different reviewers though before splashing the cash always a prudent thing to do. Look at any of my posts to see how i feel about the gigabyte P45 boards easier then me repeating myself on this thread :D.

Well its a replacement for a x48 which im not really happy with tbh.
What im really after is a p45, Really I would like UNDER 100 that can overclock well.
It would be running:

q6600 (ideal at 3.6)
4gb 1066 OCZ Ram.

Im just not a hige fan of asus.

If you can afford 20 quid more, do check the top of the range, the ep45-extreme is a very nice board, and the price on OcUK is unbeatable!

I would defo go with gigabyte if your using ocz ram as some other makes including asus can be fussy about that companys ram.

Sorry for butting in but just wondering what board you would choose Rizlaking i was going asus p5q pro but really thinking gigabyte now but looking for good amount of sata connections.

I have a GA-EP45-DS5 and it has been without doubt the best motherboard i have ever had simple to use all the performance you need and those 10 sata ports are a real bonus though for me they were a must have. I have a Q9450 oc'd to 3.2 in mine with 8gigs of ocz vista gold ram in all four slots and the board had no problem picking up the memory straight away and it has run solid without a bsod or major crash since i installed it.

Many were recommending the P5q series and while they are good boards i can't see them being any better then the one i went with tbh. Only thing against mine is the price which seems a bit silly now being more exspensive then the extreme version of the board and due to the amount of features built into the board the bundle looks quite sparse when you open the box. If i was upgrading now i think i would still go with the DS5 although i would give serious attention to the xtreme version as well.

Yeah i got a DFi and the RAM is proving awkward. I can get it stable with OCCT, Memtest, orthos but not at all with Prime. Fails as soon as i start blending.

My only bugbear with the DS5 is the cost, was really looking for summin a bit cheaper. The Extreme looks pretty cool, but again might be a bit too much.
I quite like the look of the ud3r, does not have Multi GPU support but imo you dont get a p45 to run crossfire.

Yeah the price is a bit high even though it is a fantastic board and gives no problem i suppose it comes down to whether that is something people will pay extra for it seems gigabyte thinks it is and i wouldn't argue with them. I keep looking on forums to see if there are any problems with the DS5 i havn't seen but always good to be prepared and so far there isn't a single on so either they havn't sold a lot of them or most people that buy them are finding like me nothing does seem to go wrong i check tweaktown forums most as they have a dedicated gigabyte section and apart from requests to help overclock or setup a raid on the board i havn't seen a thing about problems. Also the board is large cpu cooler friendly i had no trouble installing my TT120 on it with a fair bit of room to spare.

I have 6 hard drives plus i want to use sata reader and writer thats why im looking so many sata connections. i also use ocz vista gold just two sticks in mine as its just been replaced as my last two sticks of vista gold wouldnt work in my asus but this pair i just got does shows how different each pair must be. i will have to check price for the GA-EP45-DS5 to see if i have enough spare cash.

Waht about the newer UD3 boards? They seem quite nice. I tempted to go for eith one of those, a DS5 or an Extreme (This is same as the DS5? But with less SATA?).

Would just have to look at Offloading my x48 which might be an issue.

I was thinking of this one Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R Intel P45 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard but only has 6 sata connections plus 2 purple sata connections if i can connect reader and writer to the two purple sata connections i might just get that one does anyone know if i can ?
