Do you ever go to a gig just for the support?

I live over the road from the Cardiff arena, and they never ever get anything there i want to see :( But amazingly after living here for ages i have found something i wouldn't mind seeing, M83 are playing as support for Kings of Leon. Would it be wrong to go and leave before KOL come on? :D

Yea I used to be under the impression when I was younger (most people still seem to be) that the support act will be rubbish or less quality than the main band and I'm sure sometimes this is the case however, plenty of times I've thought the support bands were as good as the headline.

Slipknots upcoming tour for a start is a good example, Machine Head and Bodom :D

Done it a few times, i went to see a band called Atreyu but in the end i found out the 2 bands previous (He is Legend and norma jean) were a lot better in comparison.

That's because Atreyu are complete gash.

I've went to see only the support band a few times and left before the headliner.

Years ago, me and a mate went to see 'Cerebral Fix' at the Wheatsheaf in Stoke. Although I was really there to see 'Bolt Thrower', the support act. We were very pleasantly surprised when it turned out that 'Cerebral Fix' were top notch too. :)

Went to see Bloc Party once, mainly because Biffy Clyro were supporting them. Though I like Bloc Party anyway and they turned out a better live set than I expected so it was win-win.

Yeah, Trivium so i could see Gojira, and Trivium again so i could see Still Remains.

Enduring Trivium during Crusade album tour stuff was not fun.
