Im running service pack 3 of XP Pro...My problem is it runs in windows fine but when running games it either get bsod or straight back to desktop...Gfx drivers are up to date mobo drivers all on ive installed farcry2 so that dumps on dx9c for me...ive run the windows diagnostic memory check and it sayin its all good...ive tryed with only 1 stick in still the same....has anybody else experienced this with this mobo/ set up...?...bios is all left in auto..simply cos i know nothing about overclocking at all...please can some help me to help my dad...i want his eyes to bleed after cod 5, dead space, farcry 2 and so on :)...any and i mean ANY hints or tips would be well appreciated

many thanks DAN

I reckon give your drivers an update, im on the latest BETA's 180.43 they work a treat. Make sure you have a look at the voltages in the bios too, might be that something is being undervoltaged...IE your RAM.

well timings are 9-9-9-24 and voltage is 1.6 well thas what is says on side of ram...i can see in bios where to change dram voltage but on this mobo ive got no idea where to put timmmings in....

Timings shouldnt matter, try giving it the 1.6v's and making sure the CPU has 1.225v's.

Still having no joy :(....set cpu and ram voltages but still keeps crashing after 20/30 mins of gaming..plus also updated graphics to the latest beta driver 180's..was running the whql 178.24...if any1 can help i would well appreciate it !..

thanks DAN

Im guessing you are using the stock cooler. Whats the temperatures like? Download speedfan, coretemp or similar. It sounds as though you could have an overheating problem.

hi m8....temps are fine really....stock cooler and cpu is idle 18 to 20 and under load 27 to 30...ram is idle 27/30 under load 35/40...thats from asus probe 2

27/30 under load? on a stock cooler?

even watercooling isnt that good

Asus probe just shows you the cpu diode temp and I have doubts on its accuracy. Use core temp to see that the cores are running at.

On my Asus, probe shows my cpu as 50C+ but coretemp shows the cores at 70C.
