Hey guys,

I've been looking at getting this baby for a while now and since I have some extra cash from a few side projects I'm pretty sure i'l buy it. I've been reading endless reviews and forum threads on this wheel and everything seems pretty dead on so far but I have a few questions.

First off, I'm playing GRID atm, but would like to get into games such as LFS, rfactor etc, the more realistic sims.

I hear the shifter is pretty crappy on the G25 and since I really want the H pattern i'm thinking is there an alternative that can be used along side the G25? As in, can I buy the G25 and a better shifter seperate from another company?

I hear the G25 shifter is pretty cheap and sticks gears a lot with a general weak feel to it.

I don't want to use sequential or the paddels on the wheel itself. I'ts H pattern or nothing really!

Thanx in advance

J

Edit: Oh and also, since its been over 2 years since the G25 has been out, anyone know if Logitech / any other companies are bringing out newer wheels soon?

Well its hardware and there are no sections for "peripherals" so i posted here :p

Allthough I see what you are getting at, its being drowned by the bloody spec me threads!

Owned one of these wheels for about a year now...

Ive tried my damnedness to get this wheel working on GRID and it just doesnt wanna work.

The H-Shifter is pretty weak to be honest...BUT there are rubber band tricks out there which do the trick pretty well and are fairly easy to do.

There is a couple of seperate shifters available out there but from what i can remember they were pretty pricey and not worth it.

If your dead worried about the gearstick the "Porsche 911 Turbo Wheel" is a pretty good option:

Various things are slightly better on it, check out the specs. From what ive heard the force feedback is much more responsive.

Other than that tho i am pretty pleased with the wheel, apart from the lack of support from developers it works well. I have a Playseat and it works pretty well with it.

Can you tell me which features you can't get to work with GRID ? I really need this wheel to work with it!

I'm also considering this wheel, ive only heard good things about it.

Apparently there's a mod that you can do with the gear stick that sorts it out.

Wheel works fine but pedals wont work, its a common problem. Tried updating etc etc, apparently it works fine under XP tho.

I get the same problem in Pro-Street seems to be a Vista thing.

Hmm i would like to say thats not too of putting but im using Vista 64 :/

Anyone using the wheel under Vista 64 and issue free?

Is it just me or has the wheel gone up in price by like £40 in the past 5/6 months? I thought it was around the £120 mark back then.. :/ bloody prices these days!
