Asda, Morrisons... We Salute You!

what about the extra fuel used in having to go into the petrol station, plus the fuel used to start the engine again after filling up after? surely that must practically cancel out the extra 25kg max of weight :p

Can I just ask why everyone on this site seems to brim the tank every time they fill up? I only ever go above half if i'm going somewhere and don't want to stop on route and it definately has a noticeable effect of fuel consumption.

can i ask the exact oposite...... why put £5 in? (as someone oposite me did today.)

what a waste of time.

only time ive done it is when im totally skint towards the end of the month and just need that lick of petrol to get me through to pay day. i know people that only put petrol in in fivers though, its weird.

yeh that's understandable i guess, plus maybe the tank was full and he was brimming it for a long journey. Just seems silly though...

Less, normally - I find if I need to go somewhere reasonable major and I know in advance I can travel First Class by train for less than taking the car. Last trip was Bristol, 240 mile round trip, £28 First Class return or £31 in the car and £11 to park at the Hotel.

So I took the train.

For 13 quid id rather sit in the comfort of my own car.

I brim mine because the amount of time I save by only having to go once, rather than several times, easily offsets the saving I would make by having less weight in the car.

Depends where I'm going. Usually I take the car anyway but I went to Bristol City Centre for a weekend, you dont need a car there and sitting in the leather armchairs in First Class drinking free drink watching films on the laptop is probably more comfortable than sitting on the M5.

Although frankly I'd rather travel standard class than do a journey of any length in a Vauxhall Astra.

or Walk!

Filled up the s-class from near empty for only £65 the other day, absolutely outstanding. (88.9 due to tesco voucher).

Just incredible, i have never filled it for that little since owning it. Shame it will last only 2 days :(

The gap between petrol and diesel over here in Ireland is only 2c/litre... I wonder if diesel is taxed lower than unleaded?

It's also ~91ppl - would be a lot better if the euro:pound rate wasn't so poor at the moment!

Was 92.9 at tescos for me yesterday too, + 5p voucher (which are collecting in my glove compartment atm from the last 3-4 weekly shoppings :)) = 87.9 a litre...welcome back to 4-5 years ago :D

how do you lot get these tesco vouchers all the time? (I have a clubcard, can I get money off too?)

Shell here is 92.9 and 98.9 for Vpower, should get my Shell card £ off voucher soon too!
