*** Official Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Thread***

Hey everyone

I need to enlist the assistance of about 4 - 5 people at some point either tonight or tomorrow night on Karak Eight Peaks. I am trying to get a Guild formed, but I don't have enough friends online all the time to do it and I'm struggling to get them organised. Would it be possible for a few unguilded alts on KEP to meet up with me in Altdorf at a convenient time so that I can form it? You can leave right after, I just need to get it going.

Thanks :)

I don't think anyone has noticed my earlier post, so I thought I'd ask again. Anyone able to help me with the above?

As your on 8peaks server, same as a few others who post here, why not save the time and rouble and come join us??

or are you playing them dark, trouble in the head chaos side? as we are order side.

** oops, noticed you say Altdorf, so i guess that means order too lol **

I've run successful Guilds in UO, SWG (PvP Guild) and WoW and would like to be involved in the running of one in WAR to experience the Guild levelling system first hand as it is something new and interesting that isn't available in the other games I've played :)

Had fun last night, entered Phoenix Gate scenario a few times and quite enjoyed it. I think one of the things I am really appreciating about WAR is the "I can quite happily put this down" factor, and not feel like I need to be logged in 24/7 to get anything from it. :)

Also helped that I actually saw quite a few other players and for once Destruction didn't control all the rvr zones. :p

which uo guild/shard?

It was a Guild over on Atlantic, many many moons ago. It was called Exceptionals. That was a long time ago now though, long before my move over to Europa to play there when T2A came out.

Fair enough CHokKA, but i think a lot of us are in guilds already so not sure if we can help out there. Unless we use an alt of course :) - in which case, i can help on friday night if your still stuck for one person.

I ran guilds/corps. Unless i have 24/7 time to play it isnt going to happen, im happy to let others run it and have sleepless nights and the people to sort out while i just play sat/sun and level up a little bit and chat on TS.

Dont really want to run another one, but dont tell my guild leader this, they might get ideas LOL!!! - i dont think so :)

I'm running our new one whilst leader is on hol. It's not like other guilds really with this MMO, you're not pressed to do PvE raids or grind, etc. It's just a case of "Hey, this sat as a guild, lets take a keep or do Gunbad". It's not like we can even own a keep, as it costs 6 gold per hour, so i don't think a leader is near as busy as in other games tbh. That's why i keep playing this game, it's open to the casual player, although i do seem to play each night because of that, go figure..

This weekend i'm just going to organise some RvR keep runs and get a PvP structure going. The experience with pickup groups and scenario's in this game is shocking, many people are just plain awful, healers not healing, tanks not protecting healers, Bright-Wizards just running into a crowd and blowing themselves up. With an organised guild group, you would tear most situations apart.

Good to see no matter what game you play, PUG's are still PUG's lol... wonder where all these mad people come from though...

Is there anywhere I can buy a card where i don't have to wait for it too be delivered? Where I can just buy a code and have it e-mailed to me instantly

given that you have zero voice comms in pugs its to be expected- on rare occasions you can get lucky and find a few guildies in a pug which can totally turn the tables. For the most part though complaining about pugs is like complaining about rain being wet :)

Nah mate, i have to disagree there...

a tank should tank, a bw should fire from behind the tank or run to the tank if he pulls. a healer should be able to see the group, heal when needed and try not to pull too much agro off the tank. the tank should see the groop is ok and make sure nay stray mobs moving out to the cloth wearers are pulled away.

sure people make mistakes, lag gets you ect, but basics are basics, a lot of PUG's dont even do this to be fair.

Still, makes the game fun to see a BW tanking a champion doesnt it gober lol..

I had an archmage the other night insisting I should tank the hero in a PQ. I'm a shadow warrior, and to make things worse, there was a swordmaster in the group too :D

Have to agree. Even PUG's have simplistics. Whenever I've played a tank, I'm always running around trying to keep players off my groups healers/cloth wearers. DAoC was *great* for this. It was a hard set requirement for groups to do their job properly, else you were dead in literally a matter of seconds and most people learnt very quickly.

The most important part of any type of RvR is crowd control. The side that can keep their opponents where they want them will win. New players just think about damage output and nothing else. If you can mes/stun/root the opponent and they can't, you immediately have the upper hand.

Finally lost patience with the game tonight when, after queuing for a half hour, I ended up in a scenario with just me and a single desto player. Think I'll reroll on k8p, see what the pop is like.

Anyone complaining about dead servers really need to re-roll on Karak Azgal, mythic are not allowing server transfers to our server due to it being too lively.

Scenarios queues are never more than a few minutes, lots of PvE and PQ groups, RvR is generally active a fair bit, and region chat is always going on. Most of this is in Averlorn btw, I understand most servers have a lot of activity in averlorn, but our server is far from dead.
