Hi,

Some of you may have seen my Ballistix posts already.

Looking into the above memory to replace what i get back.

I running XP Home which i know only notices a combined memory of something like 3.5GB but will it be worth my while getting the above memory over 2gb??

Cheers

It's absolutely worth it, another 1.5GB is awesome, i just added 2 and the effect is grand but 1-1.5GB extra will be extremely noticeable to - and i would say that you need 4GB for games like WAR. I have the exact kit you're thinking about buying and so far it's working perfectly - the timings could be better but for that price it's a no-brainer.

Could you update your spec?? So i can see what you have. OS too?

Will windows xp 32bit cause me any memory problems not being able to address the memory??

Or to be safe should i buy...

OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2

Or 2 Kits and only run 3 sticks (will this ruin my Dual Channel speeds??)

Or if i get the 4gb kit then only use 1 stick untill i get vista

cheers for help guys.

I had a set of this ocz vista gold for my p5ne-sli but it just kept shutting down my computer after a few minutes even when updated to highest bios 1301 it would still cause problems so sent rma and now i have same memory again but this time it work fine so each pair must be different i think so its pot luck if an asus board likes the pair you receive.

I must add once its working its a faster memory than what i had which was geil orange 6400 but now im sitting here waiting for my gigabyte board to arrive too many problems running asus boards these days.

Just got it to 5.6 with setting up of timings.

5-5-5-18 Set to DDR 800mhz and 1.8v

Anything im doing wrong, how comes people are reporting 5.9???

Windows reserves more memory than just the videocard memory as it has to address lots of devices.

I have a pair of 512MB cards and get 3.09GB

Works just fine with Vista 32 and XP SP2/3
