Recession bargains

haha, some bloke on credit crash britain bought a cayenne turbo for 11k, and that was a personal bankruptcy repossession

Someone I know picked up a Cayenne Turbo for a little over 10K last week at auction.

A workmate of mine is trying to sell his Cayenne but has had no interest whatsoever over. He bought it about 8 months ago for 22K, god knows what he'll get for it now - has it up for 19K but he'll probably end up taking about 15 for it :(

14k and two new front tyres. That prob has been ragged from an early life so prob an ex Ford management car. Still v.cheap.

Great car though ;)

you would be surprised at how fast the tyres wear down, my mate who is a bit of a girl driving his had to change his at 10k!

And yet NSX prices don't seem to be falling, certainly people with 2nd hand NSX's need a wake up call. £10k and I'm there.

Couldn't the recession mean that the number of second hand cars drop as people hang onto their current motors rather than selling/trading up.

No, most high net worth cars are financed so you sell it and try clear the finance and get your outgoings down. That free's up £1500 a month or whatever and you go lease a Golf for £200 a month till things pick up.

You have to bring your overheads down at the same rate as your company turnover is taking a nosedive. If you do that you survive.

There are some that are getting to 10k, theres a 3.0 auto for £11k on PH right now. What spec NSX are you after?

Manual and not a shed.

I went to see one in Jan or Feb I think priced at £18k and it was an absolute mess & put me off them totally.

How was it a mess? and if your looking at them priced at £18k, does that mean you would consider something at £10k and use a bit to bring it up to mint standards?

I really don't understand NSX and previous gen RS4 prices, they both seem to be artificially inflated for some reason.

After viewing a few RS4's a week or so back i really can't understand the prices, 18 - 20k for previous gen on a 2000 plate, or 8k more for the current gen...

Uneven panel gaps, a slightly sunken door, a fluid leak of some sort and generally scruffy.

No, with an NSX it's either got to be honest from the outset or don't bother.

It's not the sort of thing you can take a chance with.

nobody will be getting 18-20k for their old RS$'s though. i got £16.5k for my one as expected and that was a mint low miler with good modifications and good history, didnt see any advertised that appeared better.

And nobody will be getting £18k for a 15 year old NSX but it doesn't stop them pricing up at that level. Fruitcakes the lot of them, wake up & smell the coffee.
