Just watched Murray winning quite comfortably against Andy Roddick . It was good to see him playing so well. He's saying he's tired and suffering from jet lag but he looked in superb form to me.

Surprised to see Simon beating Federer earlier today too, although Simon does seem to be getting better and better.

Murray and Simon meet on Wednesday, which should be a great match and one which will see both players being equally rested, which wasn't the case when Murray beat Simon the last time they played.

2nd set was nearly a whitewash for roddick though, Murray has to keep that under control (especially against the decent players)

Simon is a pretty decent player for sure, it will be a bigger test for sure- Roddick's main weapon is his blistering serve, Simon is more of an all-rounder

Without doubt though Fed will be the hardest match of the three initial games Murray has to play, fortunate its the last one of the group- personally think AM needs to win on Wednesday so the Fed match means less (with Fed losing today, he can only win 2 matches - I just hope it isnt close enough for AM's middle set today to count)

I'm glad Murray is keeping his head above the water, quality player for sure but hes doing better than I ever expected him to.

He palyed well against Roddick, bu Roddicl wasn't exactly ' amazing'.

Murray seemed to be taking a bit of a breather in the second set ready to compete in the third, which he did do taking a 5-0 lead before winning it 6-1.

Tomorrow's match against Simon will be a lot tougher for Murray, hard to call, I think it all depends how Murray is feeling. But Roddick had a little dig at him saying that he's not as tired as he is making out, so we'll have to see on the day.

I have been impressed with Murray's progress over the last year or so, his temperament seems a lot better and he always looks like he has a chance of winning against anyone.

Andy through to the Semi's of the Master's Cup after beating Simon 6-4 6-2
( slightly worrying that AM was up 4-0 during the first set)

at least it was a straight sets win and the match against Fed on Friday according to Five live doesnt count for much

Yeah just watched it myself, it was a good match, wasn't as tight as I thought it would be as AM looked on really good form, I guess he's getting over the jet lag and tiredness.

As you say, good it was just the two sets, gives AM a good chance against Federer on Friday, which even though AM has already qualified for the semi's, I'm sure he'd still want to win.

Just about to watch Federer V Stepanek - I don't think there's going to be any surprises here, but you never know.

Doesnt sound as if Fed is playing that brilliantly to start with, but given that he is still most likely to win this one, I think AM HAS to win his game and this is why (imo)

If Andy wins on Friday its unlikely Fed will make the quarter finals (losing two matches), the last thing Andy wants is to potentially face Fed in the final after all

dont get me wrong, even if Andy does lose on Friday it doesnt really matter and if they both get to the final, Andy still has a good chance to win - but Fed is the last person you would chose to potentially meet again in the Final (considering who is at the Masters)

It's nice to see Andy Murray's good form continue, I'd like to see him beat Federer again because as he says it is always an achievement but it is a rather big ask considering that Murray seems rather tired at the moment.

I honestly don't think AM is as tired as he's making out, maybe on Monday he looked a bit tired but he didn't today.

Federer just took the first set, he's not playing as well as he can but he's just doing enough at the moment. Surprised to see Stepanek getting close to winning that set. Federer just hasn't looked himself this year at all.

Well, Federer came through 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 in the end. He now has to win against AM on Friday to progress. Should be a good game as I'm sure AM would want to get another win against Federer.

Stepenek played well I thought, considering he came in at the last minute to replace Roddick.

Been a good tournament so far.

Just to update, for anyone interested, todays games saw Davydenko beat Del Potro 6-3 6-2 and Djokovic losing to Tsonga 1-6 7-5 6-1.

The Djokovic/Tsonga game was a dead rubber though as Djokovic had already qualified and Tsonga couldn't qualify.

So from the Gold Group, Davydenko and Djokovic go through to the semi's.

From the Red Group we have Andy Murray playing Federer tomorow with Federer needing a win to even stand a chance of qualifying. AM has already qualified. If Federer doesn't win, the last semi spot will go to Simon.

Murray's just knocked out Federer.

It was an absolutely cracking game, swinging one way then the other. Federer faced 8 match points I think it was before Murray finally go it.

The score was 4-6 7-6 (7-3) 7-5 in the end.

You've got to hand it to Federer, he was having problems with his back and could have easily retired hurt but juts kept going. Definitely one of the best matches of the year.

That's 3 times Murray has beaten him this year.

Murray now faces Davydenko in the semi's tomorrow, with whom he doesn't have a good record against, and Simon facing Djokovic.

It's certainly been a great tournament so far, that's for sure.

Djokovic has just beaten Simon 4-6 6-3 7-5 to make it to the final, both players looked absolutely buggered.

Murray's up next.

Interesting looking match this. Murray looks like he is suffering from yesterdays marathon against Federer and Davydenko is trying to take advantage by pushing Murray all over the court.

Both players lost their opening games, it's 2-1 to Murray with Davydenko to serve.

A very tired looking Murray was pretty comfortably beaten in the end 7-5 6-2.

Murray fought as hard as he could in the first set but looked completely spent in the second. The writing on the wall was pretty evident in game three I think it was when Murray signalled that he had nothing left in the tank.

Davydenko/Djokovic final tomorrow.

The Masters Cup is coming to London next year and they're saying that they hope to resolve the problem regarding some players having an extra days rest before going into the semis, to make it more even.

The match of the tournament so far though was yesterdays against Federer, which I'm sure will stand Murray in good stead for next season.

Well done to Murray for fighting as hard as possible - he was obviously completely drained after yesterday

they need to make it more fair (especially as there isnt any event after it to which players have to get to) as Davydenko had an obvious advantage and benefitted a great deal from the added recuperation

Regardless of how tired he was I'm impressed with how much his fitness has improved over the last year or two. Wasn't so long ago he was falling to the ground and crying like a baby after only a set or two in every game...
