Now that MS is putting a lot of time and money into this to help expand PC gaming thought I would post a pic of my GFW collection with a view to raising awareness.

GFW is now free for all features.

GFW Live games offer Achievements which go onto your gamertag (same as 360 so you can increase your gamerscore). Some even have different achievments to the 360 version (Gears Of War has this).

Cross platform play against X360 owners in supported games.

Marketplace (similar to X360 is coming soon) where you can buy DLC (Fallout3 is the first title to offer this next month), download movies & Demos and at some time MS are also going to be offering digital distribution of PC games (similar to STEAM).

If you have a 360 then you can even use the 360 headset on your PC with the 360 controller.

This is all good news as it means more & more developers will release PC games as MS are also helping them with tools like XNA which enables them to make the PC version quicker.

well i have fallout 3 , crysis , alone in the dark. anyway is windows live is something like steam just much worse ? each time i play f3 it shows that i sign in in windows live.

and for some reason i did not need to enter the cd key for fallout 3 when i installed it. just inviting to pirate the game i guess

Someone actually bought Kane and Lynch?! :p

I rarely keep games unless they are special, and just flog them after I've played them. Only games I have kept are things like FM08.

wonder how long it will be till they release kb + mouse for the the 360 to muddy the waters even more......

Oh yeah and i have fallout 3, grid and gears of war

Why two lost planet copies?
1st one is the initial release in June 2007 which was same game as the 360 version except the PC gets much better gfx and also supports more than 2 cpu cores if you have them. 360 version had FPS drops & terrible screen tearing as no vsync. PC version has none of this:D

2nd one is the Colonies editon released June 2008 (only £18). This features several new weapons, games modes & all the DLC multiplayer maps from the 360 + Cross platform play against 360 players. Also has Live achievements and slightly enhanced gfx. Intel used this game to showcase their Nehalem I7-965 as it uses as many cores as you have and runs up to 40% faster. Quadcore is around 40% faster than dual core and Nehalem is around 40% faster than Quad Core on this game as it scales well.

Good solid game. Very arcadey 3rd person shooter with several robot vehicles you can battle in but gfx & sound are very strong and plenty of entertaining Capcom cutscenes as well:D

Im equally shocked
Good game on the PC. Cannot understand why it was not better received. Gfx are pretty good (nightclub level is genius) and gameplay is no worse than Gears of War. Same old story where people gave the console version poor scores so the PC gets overlooked when its the best version. Game plays like a version of the movie Heat with lots of adult language & violence. Simple shoot em up gameplay with mixture of 3rd & 1st person plus vehicle combat. Well worth picking up:D
