Spam email down by 70%

ah my spam seems to be down a lot too. From 30,000 in my spam box about a month ago to 18,000 today. I'm guessing that's still on the way down then...

how do u get so much spam? i probably get one email a week thats dodgy, not subscribing to any shifty sites are we? ;) lol

You're joking! Tens of thousands!

catch-all domain name :) Most of it isn't even aimed at my address...

Have a few people with e-mail addresses on my domain as well and I get spam for variations of that (e.g. with a letter taken off the beginning of their name, or a random letter changed etc.)

I recently turned off my catch-all, despite having used it for years. I was getting far, far too many failed mail replies from spammers using forged headers with @mydomain as the sender.

I get buttloads of emails attempting to get me to read or print the attached zip file..

Although I do own the domain so it's quite funny sometimes..

I seem to be hovering around the 1300 mark in my spam on gmail which is considerably lower than the constant 3000 it was at a few months ago

I got some really good ones sent to me from "UPS" about a package that couldnt be delivered. It was telling me to open the attached document to check the invoice. I might have actually clicked the attachment if i was stupid seeing as the email was really well laid out with sentences that made sense.

There have been a lot of those going around. Someone at my previous company did open it as they thought it was about a delivery and it was a virus. We ended up having to restore the whole PC from a backup.

You can add an spf record for the domain that says what servers are allowed to send mail for it. It's not fullproof as not that many servers actually check spf records when receiving mail but I have found that it can make the spammers move onto another domain.
