Hi folks,

I've got an unlocked 8Gb Omnia coming as a replacement for my i8510.

I can see now that it is possible to unlock the G1 to use on other networks.

Should I stick with the Omnia or sell it and go for a G1 and unlock it to use on Orange?

What would yoooo doooo? :p

I think it entirely depends on what you want from your phone and if you want to be an early adopter. Windows mobile is a well proven OS and with updates the Omnia is a pretty good phone with stacks of useful application. Android is still a buggy Beta OS that has masses of potential to be the best out there.

If it's about aesthetics then go with the Omnia. If you don't mind being an early adopter and dealing with the teething of a new OS go with the G1.

I personally went with the G1.

Been doing a bit of digging and it would seems some clever bods are working on porting Android to the Omnia now it is open source, so now I'm even more confused :p

Probably find that Android already has fewer bugs than WinMob :p

A mate got a G1 a few days ago, it is really very good and light years ahead of WinMob now in terms of usability, look&feel. If not quite functionality yet.

Just got my G1 :) very nice - just waiting on my unlock code I just ordered.

Make sure you get the Zombie game (not sure exact name). But it basically plots you on google maps and then draws zombies chasing you... you have to run away irl lol :p very geeky and sad yet so cool!

found this Super Mario Simulator on it, where you have to jump like Mario and it'll make the coin collecting etc sounds(didn't d/l and try it out tho obv :) ). wanted to try typing the reboot command but didn't get the chance, might try going in again next week and playing with it again and try the reboot command then :)

LOL I downloaded that - it's mildly amusing - it plays the game tune as well.

Reboot command works - nothing to get excited about tho.
