Sorry about another thread about my video card, but this will be the last.
If you read my other thread, I posted about how my HD4850 suddenly started overheating and restarting my computer. Well since that I've had to format my hard drive and reinstall Windows to fix a problem that came straight after removing the card. But now that i'm on a fresh XP install, I can't get the card to work at all.
Basically the card is fine when no drivers are installed, but when I install any drivers (I've tried the ones from the CD, 8.7 and 8.11) the computer will crash on the "welcome" screen - the one just after the Windows loading screen with the bar. It might be worth mentioning that while it crashes, 9/10ths of the screen goes black, but on the left I can still see some of the screen. It's all distorted and stuff, but I can see the blue of the "welcome" screen. I can take a picture if necessary. To fix it I need to boot into safe mode and uninstall the drivers. I'm using my old 6600GT now, and it's working fine with this card.
Does that sound like a hardware fault?
Thanks for any help
