Gaming monitor - should I go for 20" or 22"?

This Christmas I'm looking to get a nice widescreen TFT suitable for gaming to replace my weary old 15", and I'm trying to decide between getting a 2053BW or a 2253BW. Since 20" and 22" share the same native res, is there a noticable difference in picture quality between the two? Sure, for a 22" you get more screen space for about the same money, but I'd rather have quality over quantity.

Basically, is the size difference of a 22" worth having a slightly less sharp picture than 20"?

Can you explain how a 22" would scale better please? I thought 1680x1050 was the 'true' native resolution for the 20" inch. Wouldn't a 20" have a finer picture theoretically?

I'd personally go for a 20' for PC gaming, 22' for console. K/M setup for a PC means you sit nearer the screen by default, so a 20' will give you a sharper image.

For gaming, given how fast the action tends to be, I would go with a 22" screen.

The slight increase in 'dot pitch' is not going to be noticeable, but the increase in visible area should increase 'immersion' slightly.

They both have the exact same spec, so just go for the 22", a couple of inches more eye candy. Size matters ;)

Yep, I'd recommend 22" also.

The dot pitch is finer on the 20" but bear in mind you will probably sit a bit further away than your 15" given the size increase, and the dot pitch on the 22" will be a lot easier on the eyes. I also think if you went to 20", you'd be wanting to 'upgrade' sooner than if you go for 22".
