I've seen them for is £89.99 but that is still too much, has anyone found them cheaper?

Seems an awful lot for a 120gb hard drive...

You can pick them up on a popular auction site for around £55.

Or, you can bodge one yourself by buying a WD BEVS drive and obtaining a hard drive sector extracted from a 360 drive then running a utility to put the sector on the drive. This will cost you about £40, plus you have to sacrifice an existing 20GB drive to get the enclosure from. On top of that, using a 120GB drive's sector could lead to HDs being on Xbox Live with the same serial, therefore a potential ban risk. Hardly worth the effort to save £15 or so.

The RRP is £129.99 so you are actually getting quite a big discount at 89.99. Some places are selling these brand new for £59.99 (competitoir, obviously).

Wouldn't buy one from e-bay, I would be concerned people are doing what the guy above suggested with drive serials etc.

Bodging is not an option, and how do you know what you're buying off ebay isn't fake?

I recently got one for around £77 but the shop I got it from online hasn't got any stock right now. I was reluctant to spend that much but I thought I'd get in before the masses tried to get one for the update.

If I had to spend more than that I would just buy an elite and sell off all the bits I didnt need.

I just sold my Halo edition console and got an elite for the 120gb drive. Basically broke even since the Halo consoles fetch a real premium on the bay.

If anyone can get one from that said shop for £59.99 I would buy it off them, I don't want second hand because it probably won't have the migration kit with it.

I got mine from above mentioned for £89.99 but I get the VAT back so it was £76. My brother and dad got it for me for Christmas and they were happy it was a good deal. It also said it would be 2 - 3 weeks for dispatch but it is down as dispatching soon and I only ordered yesterday.

The 120gb drives do come with a data migration cable don't they?

Just thinking that they sell for around £20 on auction, so wouldn't be too bad if I got a 120gb for £90.
