Samsung Omnia I900 owners thread.

mine did that after i used some codes earlier in the thread to boost mp3 volums. a hard reset was all i could do to fix it :(

id still love to be able to update it on vista. its well annoying now
 
not done anything but it seems that the volume (phone) had gone to zero, this also effects the ring! Dont know how it happened, have pushed it back up and it now works - I think a program must have muted it somehow!

Thanks for the help, but got a problem. In port splitter i cant write anything in output. I get a drop down menu which is empty and the keyboard doesnt come up so i cant wright anything there.....? :confused::(

I could never get tomtom working 100% all the time with port splitters, plus they drain your batt if you forget to turn them off...

Switched to IGO8 and it works flawless, detects in built gps, no port plitters needed and locks in a few secs every time... well worth it

sounds a great deal.. especially if you can get a unlimited data bolt on or sumthin with it then the phone really makes sense.

the default samsung widgets gui is abit pointless, but so many mods you can do the phone can be setup exactly like you want

hopefully modding scene will take off... it seems to be getting better by the day :)

I guess it depends on your igo8 version / install set... but I copied the install files to storage on omnia and run the 'autorun.exe'

then in the igo8 folder on storage it created, copied uk map across into contents/maps folder

last thing to do is to force igo8 to run in landscape...

goto program files folder on omnia and in the igo8 folder (yup a second igo8 folder) edit your sys file with the following...

app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

[interface]
skin="ui_igo8"
resolution_dir="400_240"
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1
vga=0

[rawdisplay]
screen_x=400
screen_y=240
class="landscape"


once igo8 runs ok you goto it's gps settings and just use the 'autodetect'...it picks up your omnia gps straight away perfectly, no port splitters needed.


sorry if instructs abit flakey, phone is bricked and waiting for new one :)


edit: it seems igo8 wont run if your omnia has recently been running activesync / connected to pc, to fix this just soft reset omnia and it will run first time

I am lost then, possibly try an un-install-re-install. I have had the issue with not having any output ports, but the autostart resolved it. I'm not sure what to do if you don't have it.
