Goodbye City-Link, hello DHL

[Spie]

DHL UK Home Delivery Service now available at OcUK. As part of our ongoing commitment to improve service standards we are pleased to announce the availability of the next day (Mon-Fri, Sat at extra cost) DHL Home Delivery for our UK customers. The DHL Home Delivery Service is a dedicated residential service that delivers between 7am and 9pm Monday to Friday and on Saturday mornings before noon.

In a radical departure from usual courier practice if you are not at home when the driver calls you will be left a card with the drivers mobile number so that delivery can take place later that day. DHL have been selected due to their outstanding reputation as a provider of reliable courier services and are now handling the bulk of our UK and International business. DHL represents a premium delivery option at and I'm pleased to report that that delivery prices in many cases have actually reduced.

DHL UK Delivery is available with immediate effect from just £6.99 +VAT.

Good news, very handy if they are able to re-deliver on the same day. Another reason to keep shopping here.

Brilliant.

Definitely a good move. City Link have been next to useless on occasion.

[DB_SamX]

Good effort; hope it works out better.

[blix]

:O nice.

[Gatsby]

Good news

[jak731]

Nice move.

[Le_Petit_Lapin]

Awesome! just noticed it's also slightly cheaper for Northern Ireland than CityLink was too.

[Dan Williamson]

Never actually had a problem with City Link in my area, but their reputation makes me glad of this change.

[Cr0fty]

Driver's mobile number = Good idea!

Only just caught a delivery today as she was walking down the road and i came round the corner on way back from shops. Phew!

[meghatronic]

That's good news

[Atrox Moris]

Great news.

[Pilky01]

Awesome.

I hate citylink.

[6thElement]

DHL have just folded their local delivery service in the USA.

[VFR_KID]

Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy. City link should be spelt with Sh at the begining.

[Doonhamer]

I thought DHL did the drivers number thing as standard? At least they have any time I have ordered from them in the past.

[cheets64]

/waits for the "DHL carded me even though I was spying out the window" threads

[Le_Petit_Lapin]

Yeah, but the USA is rather more spread out than the UK is, you'd need more distrubution centres, drivers, etc there.

[Azagoth]

Even though I literally just walk up the road to buy stuff from OcUK this is a good move.
