Intentionally I open a new thread because it has nothing to do with woltk specifically, and i don't want this to get lost within the woltk official thread which not everyone reads all of the comments there.
I wonder, if there is still a chance that blizzard will work on another expansion pack now after woltk has been released or it's wow last expansion?

Please explain your opinions :)

I'd expect at least another expansion. They're developing another MMO or have been for a while apparently and usually it takes 2 years to develop them depending on how good it will be (imo).

So i'd expect them to move on to the next project in 2010.

Blizzard has said loads and loads and loads of times they will do more expansions after this. Emerald Dream and The Maelstrom are the two next expansions.

In fact, some people already know of up to six more expansions in the pipeline!

They will continue to throw out new expansions - subscriptions are still high, and with every expansion you know that they will increase!

They won't stop pushing them out until it stops booming... that'll be for a little while yet no doubt :p

You still have to remember that TBC was a huge expansion that brought a lot of new things, keeping people occupied for at least over a year, it makes perfect sense to release new ones every 2 years if the demand is there.

And now WOLTK will keep people happy for another 2+ years.

Blizzard planned for a 10 year lifecycle.
That much was announced at the same time they announced Burning Crusade iirc.

They'll make a new MMO so you can be addicted all over again :]

"I don't personally think that there's a requirement to do a sequel," stated Paul Sams, Chief Operating Officer at Blizzard.

Instead, the studio will continue improving World of Warcraft with expansions and content updates "so long as there's a meaningful number of players that are interested in playing it."

No sequel for a long time it seems according to this article:

I'm guessing two more expansions to allow everyone to get to 100, I can't see them stopping at level 80.

Providing they keep the amount of the subscribers they have at the moment (it's 10m active now isn't it?) then I don't see why they'd stop making expansions.

Good for them, it's an excellent source of constant income considering 10 million people are paying their £8 a month. If they're aiming for 25 years and keep millions of subscribers over those years they'll have a nice bit of money to spend on other games such as Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2.

10 million people paying £8 per month! holy smokes  anyone know how much profit they make from this?

I suspect they'll do an Everquest, and keep going with the expansions even if wow2 comes out.

For me I sold out just before TBC and glad I did. It was one of the best games I played, and it has too many good memories to go back to it. Its a bit like going back to an old girlfriend, would end up being a nostalgia trip, and just wouldnt be the same.

MC BWL there would be nothing that could compare to those times tbh. :(

Lesser mmo's have had more expansions (and have been around longer) so i'd expect more than one, considering they have millions of people playing, it's an easy way to make money now they have people hooked.

Good times eh? :(
