Tomb Raider : Underworld Demo

Downloading the demo now. Haven't played a Tomb Raider game in ages (Tomb Raider 2 to be exact!), so it'll be interesting to see how the series has come on. Screens look great, and brilliant performance all round by the sounds of things.
 
Runs suprisingly well on my 8800GTS 320, not much else does nowadays!

Gameplay seems very unchanged from previous versions, doesn't really offer anything new. Plus they need to sort the camera out. I play with a 360 controller and I spend half the time just adjusting the camera rather than enjoying it.
 
Well ive finally made it to the top, man it was hard work. :D

Btw, does anyone get what looks like string (the edges of the textures looking white thin blocks, best way i can describe it lol) just a little way in front of you, looks well odd.

I notice that too, it looks like the terrain is being scanned or something. A minor annoyance though, I just put it down to the Sonar scanning your surroundings :p even though it might plainly be BS!

Yeah thats a better description, like its being scanned. :D

Ahh well, least im not the only one getting it i spose. :p

It does disappear if you switch the filtering to point, but that looks horrid, looks all grainy and fuzzy. :D
 
I only ever played TR1 on the psx I especially liked during playing it her jumping and acrobatics i.e high jumps and stuff and the level design. Will i like this new game or not do u think?

It's almost £36 on Steam but I've seen it available for £23 elsewhere. You can get Legend for about £4 on the website named after a river, and Anniversary for £5 or £6. Three games for the price of one.

That's one of the things I've been enjoying about Legend so far, I was a bit worried that all levels would be filled with enemies of some sort (even if they're insects or whatnot) just to keep your trigger finger busy, but I've been pleasantly surprised by some that have you rarely drawing your guns. Makes for a nice change of pace.
