A certain competitor to OcUK has decided to set up it's own online forum... seems they got jealous of OcUK. However, they also decided to copy OcUK's rules word for word.

From the other site: :o

No promotion of xxx's competitors
xxx are happy to provide the resources of these forums to responsible individuals without charge. They cost a substantial amount of money to maintain and use considerable amounts of bandwidth which is paid for exclusively by xxx. As you know xxx are in the computer hardware business and therefore the promotion of xxx's competitors is forbidden. Examples of promotion are :-

No medical advice
We ask all members not to ask for, nor give out, medical advice.
This is because if a member of these forums gave out medical advice that was incorrect, the owner of the xxx forums could be held responsible.

No promotion of business interests
You may not promote any website or business you have a financial or other interest in, or use the popularity of this community to help build one of your own.
The forums are here to allow people to freely share knowledge, not provide them with personal financial gain, or free advertising.

There's a lot more, but i just thought it was amusing how they just ripped it straight from OcUK's rules.

Why bother making something up when another rival has a working system? I wouldn't imagine it's a problem, I mean all the info here is on public display if you catch my drift.

I think OcUK might be the biggest computing/tech related community in the UK... just thought it was amusing that competitors are not only jealous, they stole the rules verbatim. :p

Is it still there? I just had a look at the most likely culprits and their forum rules seem to have disappeared...

There is a site that sells Hardware, And they just copy and paste ALL of ocuk descriptions, even when ocuk sold the 4870x2 with a copy of grid that was included in other sites description and it didnt come with grid.
