Went along and got it.

07, 11k

Paid £8200 in cash but got:

* New battery
* 12 months tax
* Full service
* He's gonna swap the alloys for a set of two tone ones
* Tiny scratch on passenger size back door that he's gonna t-cut

He jumped the battery and I got a spin in it, he's only 24 and let me drive it straight from the dealership where as the 120 he drove for a bit.

Felt faster, not sure how much but was a nice drive.

With everything he said £8500 and I said £8100, he said £8265 and I said £8200 and he nearly let me walk away over £65!

Very happy, it's in Saphire blue as well and Dynamic trim, no ESP, no sport button as well (thought all 150's had this?).

Gotta wait till 1st December to pick it up cause they need to get the log book and do all the work etc. which is a bit pants.

Only offered me £300 for my W reg mk2 with 64k on the clock so gotta look at selling that now.

Pictures to come when I pick it up.

I think we all knew you would have just ended up buying another Fiat, as you were dead set on it in the first place.

I thought the idea of garages (not knocking buying from them - all 3 cars I've bought are from them), is that you buy a road worthy car with tax, mot, warranty, etc chucked in. Yet you've not only paid the full asking price, you've added another £200 to this :confused: Also over 2 weeks until you can collect it?

Oh well, make sure you get some pics up when you get it.

edit: Multiply that picture by 10.. And that's how bad you fail.

MOT and warrenty were already included, it was priced to sell and nothing around the same price anywhere near me. Similiar cars I found within about 20 miles of me were closer to £9k.

Wasn't totally set on a Fiat until I drove the Bravo.

I don't see what everyones got against them? You all seem to be going on the reputation Fiat had as making dodgy, cheap and unreliable cars yet how many of you have had one and can comment?

Service wasn't due till Jan 09 and would have been £245 so get that done now to save money later.

There are many things you have overlooked such as not being offered a test drive, waiting ages to pick up the car, Not only not getting discount but being charged more for the car, spending lots of money on a boring mundane car, buying a car with an interior you don't like to the point you would consider spending 1k to get it right, not getting a px like you said you were going to insist on.. The list could go on.. And On.. AND ON.

edit: can't resist..

You realise you paid £205 for the £245 service that isn't even due yet?

.. And restricting yourself to a 20 mile radius is dumb?

It doesn't bother me not having it part exchanged and will be easy enough to sell, had a proper look at the interior today and liked it a lot more. Will still get some seat covers but it will be more protection than hiding the seats.

Paid £200 more but got a service which I would have to have done to keep the warrenty, new alloy wheels that are quite expensive.

I got a test drive when I went in today didn't I? Yesterday I was more looking at the entire range instead of this one car, the guy jumped it and gave me a 15 min test drive.

A Focus or Mondeo isn't a boring mundane car :confused:

Coming from a 1.2 8v this car feels really quick through the gears and a nice drive.

All that matters is I like it and I've brought it. I'm sure if one of you guys walked in you could have got me a bit more off it but end of the day I'm 19, it's the first time I've had to deal with negotiating on a big item like this.

I'll only learn from how this has gone.

I'll randomly throw a suggestion in..........TT Roadster.

You're a bit late.. He's just gone and brought a wikid hatchback..

p.s Sorry Peerzy, I'm 19 too but personally I feel like you have made a few (many) fundamental mistakes in purchasing you're car.. I'm not trying to be a complete asshat but I guess I'm too late in offering advice. Regardless the main thing is YOU are happy with YOU'RE purchase!

I did ask for advice before going the dealer and no one seemed up for jumping in and offering advice yesterday.

The Focus I looked at bored me, didn't make me excited or want to buy it. Mondeo was too big in the end, maybe for my next car.

Is it me or can you get a really tidy BMW / Audi for £8200?

Pay through my arse for insurance, I got a quote for an A3 and that was like £1900.

Why would I want a BMW/Audi at this age anyway?

All the people saying bad stuff about Fiat, how many of you have had first hand experience with a Fiat in the last 3 years, say a car newer than 03?

I still can't believe you spent over £8k on a FIAT. I mean seriously. :confused:

You could have got a much better car for a third of the price.
